New HDID App

So you could get a strange situation of a club not purchasing this for all members and the member refusing to pay £2.99 a year. How would a member be able to put money on their card etc if the club uses V1 for that kind of thing? I guess since you are not paying the £3 a year you won't have an account.
Not sure how it works on V1 but i have an auto top-up set up on our IG system....which I set up via the club IG website. You dont need the app (in the IG world) to have an account.

I do use the app to view my account status, current course conditions, as a reminder as to what tee times have been booked etc etc.....but 90% of my interactions with the clubs IG system are done through the website, I've never booked a tee time through the app for example. For a couple of quid a year the app serves a purpose....but it is not the life support machine that many think it is/should be...we have members that still don't possess a mobile phone...they get by OK.
 
My place ditched it a while ago to save money, I'm not sure it was used to it's fullest coz the people who run it are scared of technology. We are now on BRS, and they don't know how to use this either. And for that reason, plus a few others, I'm off again.
 
It's fairly common for products to have a basic option with ads and a premium option that removes them; and for the basic with ads option to be non-free.
Maybe so - but that doesn't make it right

Edit: I also don't think it's that common with apps, and if I'd paid for an app and it still had ads I'd be getting a refund
 
We have not been happy with ClubV1/HowDidIDo for some time now - from the perspective of managing competitions and membership. We like BRS as it has an easy data gathering capability. Club Systems International ( owners of ClubV1/HowDidIDo) have recently been very aggressive in their pricing structure; the introduction of App pricing is just one example.
We have installed Golf Genius because they have contracted with BRS to link their products and a lot lower cost. The main a benefits are seen in the management activities but we are getting positive feedback from members since we put our competitions ( 4 a week) onto the Golf Genius system.
The club info email going out on Monday informs members that , for our club, they can delete the HowDidIDo App.

Go into the relevant page and it just says Contact Club for details...
This could mean that the club have to press a button or 2 once they get in at 8....hope so...
Also the club website isn't available...maybe the same as above....
 
I've just downloaded it, so far so good, definitely looks user-friendly.

We have access to everything from the off, bookings comps, club website, documents new etc. Nice job by the people at the club.

Our HDID booking facility seems to be there.
 
Bit of mucking about to get it.
Uninstalled old version, installed new one and registered as per instructions.
Taken through to subscription page but club have bought it !! Went out and somehow old version was re installed so uninstalled it again and Bingo in and working on new version.
No booking tho as with BRS
 
All installed and working, booked a tee time for 2 weeks time.

However it's a bit of a faff to review upcoming casual times, there is no list, you have to go to the "Golf" page then on the "Tee Bookings" area - scroll right and right and right to see all future bookings.

I've sent feedback that a table type view would be so much better.
 
I've also just had 4 notifications come through..
A £25 credit to my card and 3 spends of £2.50, £7.36 and £8.80........but my balance hasn't changed....
And I haven't been there this year yet....
Teething problems methinks........
