This thread follows on from the recent one regarding the purchase of cheap shoes vs expensive ones.

In that thread I advocated the expensive ones, and still do. Back in November I purchased a pair of Camel boots from Amazon for £110. They have been worn a max of 1-2 times every couple of weeks since then. They are in immaculate condition wear wise, but the sole has come unglued from the upper and started to peel away.

Amazon's take, they are outside the 30 day return period for non electrical goods and could not be returned...... they offered me £22 partial refund for my troubles.

I managed to track down the manufacturer following a number of calls to Germany, they have offered to take a look at them despite my sales contract being with Amazon, and they best they can offer will be a good will repair.

Stepping aside from the fact that a pair of shoes regardless of cost should not split after such a short period with such little wear. Just a word of warning to anyone else that may buy online from Amazon. 30 days is your max.......personally I won't be buying shoes from them again.

Strange! I've returned 2 items to Amazon with no hassle, 1 was a camera and the other was a pair of walking boots, pretty sure they were over 30 days, I just printed off the return form and sent them back, no issues at all.

Keep hassling them, hope you get it sorted.
