Evening gang,

Working on a quiz for our work team. We do it on Zoom, but because of the way we do it we are unable to screen share or play music clips, so I'm looking for suggestions for rounds where the questions can be read out. It's the 50th one we've done so we've been through most of the more obvious choices; anyone got any slightly left field suggestions for these rounds?

Thanks in anticipation.

sport: best ones weve had that arent too obvious were:
a cryptic/alternative clues/anagram round for sporting teams
who came second; either prem league runner ups or fa cup/world cup losing finalist for eg
3 or 4 clues and then a bonus for guess the year

music:
which film/musical
cover songs who sang the original
whats the 10th word of the song....
group of say 3 or 4 songs and then whats the connection

probably all stuff youve seen but after a while it gets hard to be creative!

Have you done a “works” quiz? ie, when was the Company founded, how old is the boss or his dob, how many fire exits in building A, B or C., turning left out of the entrance what is the first road sign you see.

Questions about things people see or do everyday, but never notice and take it for granted.

My brother did a slightly different round in a quiz for our family that could be adapted for a music round - he gave the first names of a group of people and you had to try to work out what the collective group was... stars of a particular movie, crew of Apollo 11 etc, but some of them were members of bands. Depends on your demographic and how many questions you need but some can be easy (John, Paul, George and Ringo; Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn and Anni-Frid) and others not so much (Freddie, Brian, John and Roger; Kurt, Dave and Krist).

Someone's already done that one mate. (y)

How many questions do you need to complete the quiz?

I can send you 40 music questions no problem.

In one quiz I wrote I had an observation round. eg, how much does a day pass on the local bus company (travel West Midlands in my case) cost? The answer in on many buses

Music one's now done thanks Rob (y), need something original for sport.

Once did one round called "Dancer or Footballer" - suited the audience for that occasion. Read out quotes from famous Dancers and Footballers, 1pt for getting the sport right and a bonus for naming the person. Can make it really easy or really hard, other sports are available :-)

1) I was brought up correctly and in the right way, and my parents are very proud of the fact that I am a professional ...

2) ... is part of my soul. I enjoy it, it makes people happy, and it makes me happy.”

1) Football - Sadio Mane

2) Dancing - John Travolta

What about a quiz with the answers about the guys and gals that are in it, and "surprising" or funny, little known facts about them.

E.G. Which of us played Mary in their all boys primary school nativity play......as my example. :p

Obviously they can't answer the question that has them in it.

If you only had 12 in it, you could double it up to 24 questions as a fact or fiction, true or false answer, where they provide a 2nd true or false item, but you name the person.

E.G. True or false - Was Richard BIM a body double for the honey monster in the 2004 summer adverts...... ;)

The classic

Who won the FA cup and has never played in the competition since ....

If you know who is entering and there is no more than 20, try a sports round based on peoples surnames. We had one early in lockdown and was very good. Give everyone the answers at the beginning of the round (they should twig on fairly early) and then each answer is someone's name. I was a village cricket competition in Yorkshire, but the New Zealand equestrian rider had us stumped until later in the round until we crossed a few more names off the list :)
