Moortown

Looking at the possibility of a little mini tour up there next month, heard nothing but good things about Moortown, Alwoodley, Sand Moor etc. Possibly Lindrick either on the way up or down as well.

I'd be interested, Alwoodley is supposed to be the mutts nutts, also Ganton.

Played Alwoodley recently and it is very good. Sand moor is nice but not in the same league, the 18th hole there is an absolute killer up a massive hill with a blind second shot with the clubhouse just left of the green :D

Alwoodley is mint, Moortown is well worth a visit, The guy in our group actually recommended Headingley over Sand Moor, I am playing Lindrick Monday so will let you know what condition that is in.

Agree with Worksop, I played in the English Mid Amateur and it was tough, but a great course, just played Alwoodley a few weeks ago and fantastic course, never seen sooo much purple hard to get out of CACK on a course before, (heather). Moor Allerton is also good but play holes 10-27, Moortown is a fantastic golf course, all the par 3's are tough holes especially Gibralter, some slopes on there. Lindrick on Monday, but another to play in Nottinghamshire is Sherwood Forest.
6 day tour, Alwoodley, Moortown, Moor Allerton, Worksop, Lindrick, Sherwood Forest......... Sorted.
