8+ ?

OK, who let Jordon Spieth on the forum?

I've had 8 in one round, it was acutally 8 in the first twelve holes and then left a 15ft birdie putt short by an inch on 13 and the spell was broken. Very bizarre round of golf a few years ago which consisted of great shots for tap in birdies, a chip in, a couple of long putts and some really bad shots in between the birdies! First 12 holes went -

Double Bogie
Birdie
Birdie
Birdie
Double Bogie
Birdie

Birdie
Bogey
Bogey
Birdie
Birdie

Then made par on all the remaining holes.
Very strange round.

such rounds certainly stick in the memory very well - my 6 were in the first 11 holes, 4BBB match at the club and we were 1 down standing on the 12th tee.....went on to loose.

in my case it really was a case of the whole match simply escalating everyone's expectations and confidence that produced the results - but we all know we 'can do it' but the results on any day are driven by what we do do instead!

In medal play I have had 5, 2 or 3 times, and none of those rounds have lead to my best rounds.

When playing well I will make mostly pars and less bogeys and birdies. When I'm making birdies I normally throw in a good few bogeys and doubles.

No idea why :-/

I think 3 in a round has been my highest. Shot -1 gross on the front 9, and then couldn't get anything to drop on the back. Frustrating.

Had 5 twice and four quite a lot. Had 4 birdies in the first 10 holes in a semi final 4bbb last month. That went down well

Mine was 5 in a medal, annoyingly accompanied by 5 bogies for my one and only level gross round to date - 29th Sept 2009 (on Howdidido recorded for posterity!)

I'm quite a streaky flair player and the putter occasionally heats up nicely. Had a nice wee run a couple of weeks ago, holing a 5 footer, 15, 15, 10 and 30 on the opening five holes. Sadly only two were birdies.

Best in a round is 7, though I've also had 7 consecutive 3s once starting with four birdies on the trot from the 9th before an eagle sandwich. Lipped out for birdie 3s on the closing 3 holes too from 10, 6 and 4 feet to shoot a tidy 65 (-5). only bogie that day was on the first. That was on quite an easy course mind!

best in a medal is 6, twice. One occasion was the only handicap medal I've won at my current club. Sadly also had two or three doubles that day and finished +2. Shot lower gross rounds and not got near the hcp winner a few times since!

3 on the Masters course at Woodlands near Bristol.

Birdied the par 5 7th, par 4 8th and par 4 10th.

Although at the time i didnt know it as the 7th is only 454 yards with no discernible hazards so i assumed it was a par 4. It was only when i was filling out my scorecard that i noticed it was listed as a par 5!

Most in a round was 8 which was accompanied by 7 bogies for a -1 round

7 birdies with 3 bogies led to my best scoring round ever of -4 (67)

Lipped putts in that round on 16, 17 and 18 so with those missed putts and 3 bogies I left a few out there........ :p

Another memorable round was when I birdied all 4 par 5's at East Sussex National (East course), memorable because I had to hit driver/driver into 3 of them

Had three a few times. Most memorable one was the first time when I was having a mare, and decided to "not try". Result was some of the best putting I'd ever had with six one putts in a row to the 17th from all sorts of distances,

....and a chip in for par at the last!

Earned me the title of "Streakiest Putter" in the society! :D

I have had seven in a round a few times, the best one last year when I birdied the last six holes in a row. The other birdie was during the front nine, but I had been playing so bad the six in a row only got me back to level par.

4 for me, including 3-in-a-row, just the other day.

Easiest three holes on the course, right enough.

Par 5 driver, 8 iron, PW, putt.
Par 4 driver, 9 iron (short), chip in
Par 4 driver, 9 iron (half a foot), tap in

Par 5 driver, 8 iron, GW, putt.

Definitely a convert to laying up very safely on par 5s.

5 is the best for me which happens a couple of times a year. Had three and two eagles in a round before which was fun (not to mention surprising on an entirely new level) ;-)
