If you strike down on a ball sitting on a bare lie you have absolutely nothing to fear.

If you are attempting to come in too shallow, lift or scoop a ball with no grass under it you have a lot to worry about.

Long bunker shots of 50yards are no fun. Much prefer them with the sand is wet and tight. When sand is dry control becomes alot harder. Usually have no problem getting them out but control is massively diminished.

Chose other.

My place is very undulating, having to hit a 3w or Hybrid with the ball below your feet and on a down hill lie puts the heebie jeebies up me!

For me it’s the long iron over water.
Long bunker shots are difficult but a poor shot isn’t as punishable as a long shot over a water hazard.

Long bunker shot, of say 50 yds, for me: - most amateurs struggle enough as it is playing a short bunker shot with much control. The added distance with the need to hit closer to the ball, control swing length and speed, being brave enough to fully commit without decelerating is very difficult.

Same for me. And I'm just utterly useless getting any distance out of a fairway bunker. In fact I'm worse at the latter.

Went for "other" as none of the list really bother me but the shot that does is a downhill chip, in the rough to an elevated green with a tight pin. Faced such a shot on Sunday as missed our 12th right so was on the downslope of the 13th tee box. Had to get the ball up over the bank protecting the 12th green - thinned it and said "I must practice that shot"! Can be hard to recreate on the chipping area but no reason not to give it a go when I can on the course.

... just under the lip, with one foot below the other, into the wind on a cold winters day when you haven't warmed up?

one foot in , one foot out, shot requires a punch draw to thread though a gap in the branches at 200yds...

always a tad fiddly :D

I have gone for the drive to narrow tree lined fairway. Bad one could cost me a load of shots. Probably why the Duchess at Woburn is my least favourite course.:)

I have also gone for other, a lot of the options in the poll are psychological, the shot that I struggle with is when the ball is below my feet.

Tree lined fairway drives for me, usually thinking about the tightness of the fairway increases my chance at a lovely slice.
