Hi all,

This month, we want know about your best-ever birdie haul, and how it came about (for the purposes of the poll, count an eagle as a birdie).

Were you 'in the zone'? Did you have great luck? Holing them from everywhere? Let us know!

Hope everyone is well,

Nick

I've had four in a round a couple of times.

Most notably, I birdied 4 of the first 5 holes in a medal but got over excited at being 4 under and fell apart slightly on the back nine.... Had a reasonable score but didn't break par.

Got 3 in a round once, all within 6 or 7 holes, just managed to get the putter firing on all cylinders. Let it get to me and absolutely lost it on the last 7 holes and ended up with a round in the 90s, which wasn't bad for my then handicap of 20-something but felt like I let a good one slip!

Most I have had was 2 and that was on the old course the other week, proper buzzing by it however I soon came down to earth with a 9 on the 17th road hole ! - Dam you road hole bunker :)

I've had 5 in an 18 hole round a couple of times, but the best has to be 5 in 9 holes for the GM powerplay event at the Grove.

Shame the other 4 holes were all bogeys. :(

My putting doesn't very often catch fire, so to have a lot of birdies I have to be knocking approaches close.

I have twice had 5.

Once was in a medal, and I actually played pretty badly that day on most holes, but fortunately I was lucky on the par 5's. I shot a 73.

Another time was in winter, the course only had 15 holes open and I birdied 5 of them. Basically my iron play (distance control) was really good that day and gave myself loads of opportunities.

Had 5 birdies a number of times

This morning being another time with 3 on the front and 2 on the back

4 in a medal round - never been close to that since! I had played a couple of comps and putting stats were awful at 38-39 putts. Realised I was getting on in regulation and kind of accepting a 2 or 3 putt as my score would still have been acceptable. Next round I was determined to view every birdie putt as a genuine chance and not settle for a 2 putt par and be happy! Never managed to really find that mindset again...

I've had 4 twice, once in a comp where I managed a small cut, the other in 8 holes with a mate after work one evening. The sad thing about the latter was the other four holes were double bogeys or worse:mad:
Gotta laugh though :D

Four for me in a medal round at my first club but still only made buffer, never made more than 2 in a round since. Not enough GIR for me unfortunately which is a shame as once I get on the D Floor I'm a half decent putter !!!!!

Had 4 on the bounce a couple of times (and lipped out for a fifth most recently) also had 3 twos in a round a couple of times both when there's only been my 3 twos in the swindle!

Three 2s in one round while playing a Bathgate GC invitational comp, Also won nearest the pin prize and best aggregate at par 3 prize ,1985 I think. :whoo:
