SEVEN!

At the Cooden Bay outing a couple of years back. I could bore you rigid with tales of daring do! A couple of very dodgy double bogies and a 3 putt on the front 9, and 2x 3putts on the back 9 didn't take the edge off it though.

Can't believe Smiffy doesn't burn it up on a regular basis.

Had several rounds with 6 birdies in, and numerous rounds with 5, one of which saw 5 on the bounce.

The best I've done in a medal is 2.

Best I've done in a bounce game is 3 and it was the first 3 holes at Prestwick St Nick's, playing with my uncle vs my dad and my other uncle.

First was pretty straightforward, 10 footer. Second was a one-in-a-hundred slider from the bottom tier up to the top, after joking with my dad that I was going to hole it to send them 2 down. Third was a 6 footer after a good drive just short of the green, putted up the slope and holed the putt.

-3 after 3, my backside collapsed and I staggered round in about +8 in the end and we got beat :whoo:

4 birdies and an eagle (driveable par 4). Ended up 3 over par gross for a nett 59 but unfortunately it wasn't a qualifier.

Five for me, with four in five holes. It was matchplay and I was one under par when I won on the 16th. More of a case of a very hot putter than great striking.

Had 6 in a round once, had one of those rounds with the putter when everything seemed to either go in or very close, also had 2 eagles in a round once (no extra birdies to go with them though!!)
Most birdies in a Medal round is 4

Four, last year on 20 September in a club board comp.

Weird as I was joking on the first tee with one of my PPs who had got 3 birdies in a comp the previous week, that I never seem to be able to able to manage more than one birdie a round.

Started birdie birdie! Chipped in dead weight on the first and holed a 10 footer uphill on the second. Later I holed from 12 feet on the 11th and from about 5 feet on the 15th. Ended up with a gross 77 and came second in the overall comp on count back. Knocked me down to 9.5 which with an ESR got to me single figures for the first time.

It was strange round though as I didn't make a single 4 - 2 2s, 4 3s, 11 5s and a 6. I actually missed a couple of 4 footers which had I made them would have given me my best ever medal round.

I had 6 in a gross 68 around the Dorset Golf & Country Club in a monthly stableford. Eventually shot 68 vs a par of 72.

Strange thing was it was a very ordinary rounds. Nothing outrageous but hit a lot of greens and holded a few mid length puts (under 15 ft).

Made me wonder why I can't do that all the time.

Had 6 in a medal once and shock horror never made buffer :o

Quality player

I had a round once which consisted of 6 birdies, 6 pars and 6 bogies. Model of consistency, me.

The 6 birdies included par 3, 4 and 5s.

Also had another round where I had 5 2s, one on each of the par 3s at the course. All were solid irons to middle of green, 10-20 feet away and putts rolled straight in.

Both of these were a while ago, though. Nothing like either one recently.
