As has been said, whether legit or not, he was selling way too much to not draw attention to himself. (I still don't get why he didn't just put it on ebay).

I think some of them are, there is a Titleist bag on there for the same £40 with the same stock pic as the one Mono had on here from a Liverpool seller. Has a 100% feedback! Chances are it's his I'd say.

Took a trip to the dark side and it seems that Mono is ruffling a few feathers already. He's claiming to have Cally diablo in his bag now (not cheap and not that widely available yet). Other than that the forum is as exciting as ever with minimal chat activity and not very interesting topics.

I feel better now I'm here but so dirty and unclean. Must try and wash this smell of desperation (TG and their forum)off.

Get a grip FFS!

That will be the same Callaway Diablo that he posted a review of on here. "Smell of desperation". Unbelieveable. That post alone justifies why this site is going to the dogs.

Craw, do you honestly believe he has one? I don't. He seems to have tried every club out there, you name it, he's had it, got it, got a mate who has it, has it for sale. Like many others, I am fed up with it.

the craw,

I disagree. The TG forum lacks any sort of warmth, sensible layout and has very little traffic for a magazine that publicises itself as the magazine for the average golfer. To be honest the whole site is just too busy and yes, in MY opinion it does look desperate. It seems to be trying too hard to attract people in and the quality of most things (their instructional stuff is very good) isn't that appealing.

Just my opinion. As for the diablo. A) I never saw his review so apologies for that. B) I stand by my comment sthat it seems strange he's hinting at selling it already and C) they aren't that widely available

Craw, do a search on all the posts that mono has started. Over 50% are him flogging something, most others are drivel.

Now i'm sure people read some of my posts and find them boring but mono has been given a punishment and I see no reason to defend him.

As for all this gear he has, i'm just not too sure and at 15yrs of age? na, i'm not buying it. I think he's a bad apple.

Where am I defending him?

I dont buy into this he must be a thief/crook/conman crap so does that mean I am defending the lad? All that I'm saying is that without proof and the amount of abuse certain people have branded about then its slanderous. Facts should be obtained before getting out the tar and feathers.

Mono annoyed me at first when he bombarded me with PM's over a 3 wood that I was selling untill I learned that he was merely a 15 year old lad.

I remember what I was like as a 15 year old, granted I dint have the amount of money or gear that mono appears to have but my bag was like swapshop, buying and trading clubs with fellow juniors.

You can choose to ignore the lad its quite simple instead of getting your knickers in a twist. As I have already stated the appointment of moderators was always going to be a risky business and its proved some are over keen to flex their muscles to show they have power. Infact its also been shown by Twire's response he was not even in the loop so they are acting independently from each other.

Also in response to your question, why would I doubt he has a Diablo? I have no reason to disbelieve him unless proved otherwise. Maybe I'm just playing devils advocate here but it actually sadens me to see the forum develop in this way, although it was always going to happen once moderators were appointed.

Like you I have chosen to ignore him, i'm actually suprised how much attention this post as got and i'm just as bad for contributing.

Oh well,

despite forum members taking time to offer advice and guidance he has continued to treat the for sale section as his personal ebay shop but without the fees.

This is the reason I agreed with the decision to suspend him. Nothing to do with his inane posts. Like others have said, it's not against the forum rules to be an illiterate bore.
It is however against the forum rules to consistently offer items for sale in the "For sale / wanted" room as per The Editors general rules. Take special note of rule 2.
This forum is not somewhere for golf-related businesses to hawk villas near golf courses, online golf shops, timeshares, mental game coaching etc
Mono was starting to use this forum as his personal online golf shop.
Where he got the gear is irrelevant in my eyes. It's the fact he was flooding the room with ads. He was asked to refrain and didn't. It's a no brainer.

i hardly look at the sale/wanted section, but if it was being abused, then action needs taking. the tg forum is pretty dire, especially compared to here. mono was criticised, for not listing golf as a hobby, neither have i, i am on a golf forum so thats obvious. also mentioned was repeated posts, you are going to get that. i can not read every post, time does not allow. try missing a week. i have been away for 2 days and have hundreds to read. yes some of monos comments were just agreement to other statements, was he the only one guilty of that? if he is 15 he is still learning, god i made mistakes at that age, i still am, none of us are perfect. if he comes back, encourage or ignore, no personal attacks, disagree with his comments by all means, freedom of speech, right or wrong!

the craw,

Just to quantify, I wasn't questioning the legality of his ownership of the diablo but just found it interesting that he has acquired, one presumes from paying the full or close to the RRP (still expensive even if old drivers traded in) and wants to ship it on. The thing that fascinated me most though was the fact that it was top end stuff he always seemed t have. Now I know from my days of working in the pro shop as an assistant pro how much fun it was to borrow a demo version of a club and to have it in my bag for my mates to swoon over. I would look at the latest club and covert it to own and play with not acquire and sell on.

He has stated in other posts that he is dead keen to get his handicap cut this year. Surely it would be easier to do with a settled bag of clubs instead of using different makes and models in a very short time span.

Not looking to pick an argument here but just clarifying my point re ownership (of the diablo) and actually trying in a roundabout way to support him in his aim to get better. I even PM'd him to suggest a settled bag would help and explained my thoughts on why.

I do find the muscle flexing of Mods on a 15 year old quite funny, though I do think the forum needed someone to delete threads and ban people, I don't think though that it needs to be 24/7 cover with 4 mods and numerous admins.

On the above note its quite ironic that many users are themselves spreading Libel about Mono and this is a greater threat to GM as Mono could if wanted sue for libel yet the posters are not in any way banned, warned or spanked.

I don't think there were any direct accusations made, and while innocent until proven guilty and all that, well......it's a shame he was from Liverpool, because it just becomes funny.

I take all my friendly words back. Mono/Connor, is a COCK.

Look at his hobbies... fighting and bombs... joined a group called "lovers of knives"

Now whilst he's posting on a golf forum i'd say none of the above is any of our business but I dont want to be associated with nor do business with a fella who think any of the above is funny.

He can persue me for libel if hee wants but wont get a penny because i believe i'm now dealing with facts and the fact is he's a cock.
