Mike Tindall £25,000 fine....a joke.

He has also been dropped from the elite player squad which at his age will be more of a worry for him than 25k. Although Betty being pissed off will be his biggest headache I bet.

Surely no different at the end of the day than a footballer being fined two weeks wages for indiscipline (Max under PFA regulations). I think being dropped is the clearest signal his international career is now over. I wouldn't be worried about the mother in law as I'm pretty certain his missus is more than capable of taking care of business herself

I think its harsh to be honest.... One or the other would be acceptable, but to take 25k and his international career is a low blow considering the offence amounted to a lads night out...

I have to say, for players attempting to win a once in a lifetime, ultimate accolade - and just as importantly representing us as a country, certain of them were an utter disgrace. Nothing wrong with having a few beers to unwind, if you are a finely tuned athlete then I don't think a few beers is going to destroy superb physical conditioning BUT some of them of them totally kicked the rectum out of it. If they had won it wouldn't have mattered but the truth is England were shocking.

It's clearly a British trait, let's take football for example. A large percentage of the Premier League are foreigners (no I can't quote the percentage), how often are they in the press for the wrong reasons regarding nights out on the town. Not often compared to the home grow talent.

I know that the press have been l over this but I think that there is much more to this story. You do not impose that sort of fine and end an international career of a world cup winner and England captain based on what has been in the press to date

I doubt he'll be the last though.. A ceremonial dumping of all the "older" players, followed by the manager....

Well clearly MJ couldn't control some of his squad or fully sanctioned their behaviour, in addition to which we were utter rubbish- more than enough reason for him to go

In full agreement. Johnno seemed to be too much a part of the dressing room, rather than a leader.. It was never the correct appointment.. Get Shaun Edwards in.. I played rugby with him in my youth and you would not disobey anything he said.....ever....

I have to say that prior to this world cup Johnno was right up there with my heroes, watched him help destroy scotland at murrayfield in 2002, world cup winner, british lion on a winning tour but the world cup this year was just well, can't even describe it. Perhaps you are right, magnificent player and captain but not a coach/ manager. Very sad really
