Been drawn against a lady in our summer KO
These are the rules below … does she get 3 extra shots but we play off the same tee
Now changed to Black, purple, green ??
If so how do we decide what tee to play from …. Normally it’s the blacks (white last year ) when it man v man

If that's all there is, it is inadequate; but at least it doesn't say "courtesy" shots!
Is there not a fuller version somewhere? Among other things...
  • The tees to be played should be specified in the terms of competition
  • The mixed tee adjustment for match play should be the difference in pars
  • Normally, everyone should use the SIs corresponding to the tees they are playing

I agree that there isn't adequate information provided.
It's match play, so the lower handicap player goes to zero and gives the other player the difference in handicaps. Isn't it normal that the SI used is based on who is receiving those strokes?

Finally had a reply from the golf club
As mentioned we do both play from our own tees .. me black ( white )
And her green (Red) but use the black index
They haven’t updated the colours yet on the website but going by the old table
I would be 17.9 CH22 and she would be 12.9 CH16 +3 =19
So I get 3 shots ??

Men's par = 72
Women's par = 74

Women should receive 2 strokes, not 3.

PS: it would make more sense for men to be par 72 off the red and women to be par 74 off the yellow.

I would agree with wjemather
Looks like the committee are still using the difference in Course Rating when they should be using the difference in Par

Example can be found in the Guidance to the Rules of Handicapping
Appendix I 111 C page 44

It used to be the difference in course handicaps, but since par is now included in handicap calculations, it should now be the difference in pars.
