Been calling round some local independent s and seems like they can't get the parts so it's a main dealer repair anyway ??
https://good-garage-guide.honestjoh...ve-to-get-my-servicing-done-at-a-main-dealer-I thought it was illegal for a manufacturer to insist servicing was carried out by a franchised dealer?
No 3years old so just out of dealer warranty, we took out the extended honda warrany after their 12 month warranty expired.
and how did you pay?
I still think Honda are in the wrong demanding that the vehicle must be serviced by a Honda main dealer.
And that is my professional opinion.
For the extended warranty, direct debit.
or car ?
Just realised you didn't buy a new car with the manufacturer's original warranty.https://good-garage-guide.honestjoh...ve-to-get-my-servicing-done-at-a-main-dealer-
Further, I'm sure I saw a confirmation of that in the Telegraph a few days ago.
The car, if it's on finance or partially paid by credit card, you may be able to pass liability onto the provider and get help resolving this.

I’ve spoken to the team at Honda UK about the claim being rejected, to see if there is anything they can do to assist. They are currently standing firm that the terms and conditions clearly state that “To maintain your Honda Extended Guarantee, it is essential that your Vehicle is serviced on time by a Honda Dealer”, so are unable to process the claim.
Google it. The above is correct.Absolutely in contravention of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption rules. Manufacturers cannot prohibit the use of OEM parts of services.
Google it. The above is correct.
They cannot enforce it
As far as I am aware, a manufacturer CANNOT dictate where or who does your servicing. The ONLY things that they can stipulate are that the correct parts are used, (backed up with a receipt showing this), that the correct intervals regarding mileage and time are adhered to, and that whoever services it are a VAT registered garage. As long as you can supply evidence that these have been adhered to you should have the law on your side.
I've had a quick glance through those terms and conditions and nowhere can I see where it stipulates that you have to go to a Honda dealer.???
