our club open was won by a supposed 21 handicapper who shot a net 58... some eyebrows were raised. I think he just practiced a lot in the lead up to the open. he got cut...

Our Presidents Prize was won this year by a guy who's been a member about 3 years, started off 19, plays every week in loads of comps and has reduced to 17 over that 3 year period with nothing exceptional at all.
He shot is best ever (80 gross) in the morning round and then proceded to shave another 5 off in the afternoon. A nett 63/58 121 which is the lowest nett on our boards. He dropped 5 shots from the computer alone and has not got close to scores like this before or since. There's no way he's a bandit he just had the ultimate 'Day Out'. Think his second round was a case of being so far ahead he couldn't lose, no pressure and enjoying the day. He was one under gross for the front 9 !!

bloke I play withholds the record for the lowest net at our club - whilst playing off 22, he was level par for the front nine.
Knowing he had two and a half shots per hole for the back half, he trundled in 8-over playing bogey golf for a net 56. Still moans he missed two three-footers on the back 9 too!
