Apologies for the long post.
I had a bit of a shoulder/arm injury towards the end of the year that curtailed some progress (not sure if too much weight or poor technique that caused it). Appears to be fully healed now though and I’m switched back on exercise wise, with the diet following suit since the start of the year. Committing to no restaurants or takeaways in January to make it a bit of a challenge.
Trying to keep the diet interesting is difficult but consistency is key for me, so I’m eating very similar meals daily for breakfast and lunch and mixing it up a bit on an evening. I tried the viral donner kebab sheet recipe tonight, with a homemade chilli sauce. Massive portion, high protein and relatively low calories. Tasty too! Need to find other healthy fakeaway options to try.
Current weather means getting the steps in is difficult. Even the dog doesn’t like being out in it. Luckily, my wife recently got herself a walking pad as she works at home and uses it whilst in meeting or on calls. I’ve used that for the past few days to keep up my >600 day streak of walking 10k steps. I’d been doing some boxing interval training last year and I got a cordless weighted jump rope at Christmas. I thought it might be a bit naff - but it is actually a decent workout and something I can do in the garage for a change from the cross trainer.
Sleeping has never been a strong point for me. I’m averaging about 5 hours a night. I would love to get this up to 7 hours to enjoy all the benefits that brings. I’ve just ordered some magnesium glycinate capsules from Nutrition Geeks to see if they help improve. Anyone have any experience/feedback with these?
