Losing weight/fitness thread

Sub 20 Parkrun is bloody good, something to aim for.
I'd be surprised if I could get back there. 5 years ago my aim was to beat 19 minutes, then I got lazy. Sub 21 minutes would probably be a more achievable goal. Not getting any younger

But I'm over 90kg. Losing 15kg would mean I'm no longer carrying 15 bags of sugar around with me. That would help nicely

Swapped the sessions round today was meant to be a run but we’re out all day tomorrow so I can run early before we head out.

Today was very much about legs and explosive movements. New move for me in the warm up of weighted hip thrusts with plyo lunges. Into the main loft 6x3 sets of 140kg Squats with 2mins rest. Followed up after with 3x10 @ 70kg Box squats super set with Cable torso twists.

Then a little core work at the end. My legs are fried the box squats though light were massively taxing after the heavier work. But a little light run tomorrow to shake that off will do wonders.

But first Miller and Carter for a Juicy steak 🥩

1/2 Marathon 2 weeks tomorrow, training plan had me down for a 17 mile long easy run!

With snow forecast for later today and tomorrow I brought it forward, got out reasonably early, started OK, then the snow came😂😂 absolute blizzard, visibilty down to about 25yds a couple of times.

Didn’t think it was worth risking slipping or getting injured so turned around and ran home.

Ended up just short of 9 mile!

Definitely not worth the risk, we have had heavy snow and now temperatures have plummeted, can’t see me running for a few days now.

I think I've only gone up 3 or 4 pounds through Christmas and New Year so not too bad. I have been mainly eating chocolate and biscuits for breakfast and lunch over the last week, but on the upside, that's not a substantial amount of food. :ROFLMAO:

Not sure what I can do to increase exercise this year. I've debated starting press-ups and sit-ups at home in the evenings, but I have tried this before countless times and never stuck with it past one week really. What's the lowest amount of sit-ups and press-ups someone could do daily to still see some kind of positive effect??

Goal Pace Repeats session today, due to snow I went the gym and did the session on the treadmill.

Not sure how the treadmill session on a garmin works, but my times were flying😂😂 ignored watch when it came to 800m splits and kept running until treadmill said 800m.
Garmin was always 100-120m shorter than treadmill.

View from the treadmill was ok.🙃

You need to set a goal and make it worthwhile, ie, not give up on it the moment you get bored.

You’ve struggled with this for a few years now, if I remember correctly, so without sounding condescending etc, you need to sort you out.

You’ve got the baby now and a child takes up a massive amount of your time and rightly so.

Be fair to yourself, look at your lifestyle and list your priorities and see if there is any spare time and if so, what can you realistically do.

Getting rid of the junk food will help without a doubt and eating healthy will benefit you all.

Biggest step will be to stop making excuses and fully commit in to anything you decide, there’s no quick fix, it’s hardwork and determination.
