Losing weight/fitness thread

Just finished a good full body S&C session with the main lift being 4 sets of Bench at 80% of 1RM. Did a nice little 2km burner on the treadmill at 4%incline in 7:58mins and more full body mobility at the end.

Time to get ready for this Christmas thing everyone is going on about and then get back to it Boxing Day ☺️

Just done my longest (this year) easy run - 17km/10+miles. Feels like it should be a well-deserved rest day tomorrow (or maybe it’s ok to fit a short run?) 🙃
Go for it! I always enjoyed short run on Christmas morning gets me out the way while Mrs M squirrels around getting things ready. This will be first year in 10+ years I haven’t done it as we’re on a tight schedule to go to the in laws

Did 6 easy miles on Xmas day including ParkRun.

Today did an interval session, hit all the reps some quicker then advertised. With the walking breaks 7.5 miles, felt like I’d done a proper session.
800m into 400m Intervals with Runna ✅

1.25mi warm up at a conversational pace (no faster than 9:45/mi), 90s walking rest

4 reps of:
• 0.5mi at 7:45/mi, 90s walking rest

60s walking rest

8 reps of:
• 0.25mi at 7:35/mi, 60s walking rest

1.25mi cool down at a conversational pace (or slower!)

I wasn’t going to do ParkRun afterwards but got talked into it, a nice easy 32 minutes running with a friend.

Back running after a few days off.

Speed Repeats, Warm up, Cadence Drill, Glider Drill then 12 x 800m with 3 min walk inbetween at 8:30-8:45 pace.

Very cold and gusty along the coast, all 12 done in Avg of 8:02.

Then Cool down. 9.92mile in total.

Down 55km/34miles for me this week as had two days off running. How’s your week been?
Back to 77km/48miles as ended up with no breaks this week. At this point need to convince myself somehow to take a day off, but find it difficult 😂

How did you do?

First post Christmas session little annoyed as wanted to train Boxing Day and yesterday but guests had other plans.

So pretty much legs sesh to get back on it, managed to up the weights on Bulgarian split squats followed by 6 x 8 sets of back squats at 130kg for volume and a little leg and core based metcon after with an 800m sprint in 2:41, not my fastest by any stretch but after pummelling the legs for just under an hour I’ll take it.

Mrs M came along as well and as usual showed me up with how well balanced she is! bloody skiers and their sense of balance and timing 😒😂!!

Ended up doing a local 10k charity run today, in the lovely winter sun weather - a perfect way to finish the year.

Wishing everyone a great NY with no injuries and many hours of doing any exercises you enjoy doing 😎

Done for the year, few stats:

1332 miles
233 runs
207,000 calories burned
199 hours (8 days of the year just spent running)

One of my targets was to beat my longest run and do 15 miles, nowhere near unfortunately.
Brilliant effort that, 👏👏👏👏

Do you track your weight?

What’s the target for 2026?

Thanks. Went from 14st 12lb to 13st 11lb in the summer, ended the year at 13st 13lb. Really happy with that but for next year I'd love to go sub 13st, bit of a pipe dream I think, I've always been big and I'm 6ft 2, so not sure how I'd look, but that'll be the aim.
Would like to introduce some toning work, I'm a bit flabby if I'm honest.
