Losing weight/fitness thread

Legs at the gym today for me, was struggling again but managed to get what I needed done, although had to drop the weight on my squats.
Gym tomorrow again then a run on Wednesday.

Anyone else meal prepping? I'm doing it for breakfast and lunch each day but not doing more than two days in advance.
Need to start again. Bought some oven proof glass dishes and lids from IKEA at the weekend. Keep seeing these chuck it all in rice/potato dishes mainly with chicken. Might do some baked oats too.

I’ve avoided as I’m wary of how fresh stuff like salad will keep. Also, a few years back I had a mate who was poorly after eating leftover rice. Sure I read something similar relating to noodles too. Likely not to be an issue if cooled and heated properly. I’d just rather not risk.

Yes, rice has to be cooked as quickly as possible and heated through properly. I'm not on salad. Lunches at the moment are things like chicken sausages, sweet potato and green veg or an omlette and green veg. For breakfast I'm soaking oats, protein powder, small amount of blueberries and some almond milk. Think a bowl of cereal but with oats. I've gone off thick overnight oats.

Not been to the gym for a couple of years the problem being arthritis in both knees and herniated disc which is the major problem, especially at night in bed. Still managing golf but need a stick going downhill at golf course which is hilly.

However had a cotezon injection ( spelling) a couple of weeks’ ago and things have improved a little.

Went to the gym today, not too much 15 mins on rowing machine, 10 mins cross trainer and some weights. Not much but a start but at my age slowly does it. Still playing golf 2/3 times per week so not too bad in mid 70’s.

Onward and upward and the key for me is to accept my limitations.

It wouldn’t have occurred to me to meal prep stuff like omelettes.

I was one meal a day until recently. Increased exercise means I’m eating more. Enjoying a Skyr bowl with oats, berries and some other fruits. I eat straight away so doesn’t congeal like overnight oats (can’t think of another way to describe). But it’s slightly thicker than yoghurt.

Thankfully feeling much much better after the weekend. Looks like the mounjaro is out the system..altho I'm a bit weaker than normal.

Just signed up to that simmer prepped healthy meals delivered to your door starting Sunday. Going for 8 meals a week to try it. 30% off first month (25% normally but extra 5% on blue lights) then 10% off a month going forward.

Me and Mrs picked some meals we liked and will share them out over next week for when I'm at work and when I'm at home we will be on the lovely salads she been doing.

Just wish the night sweats would bugger off mind.

Crikey! If you are suffering after 3 or 4 jabs, good job you didn’t stick to them for a few months. Hope you get back to normal soon

Night sweats - I feel your pain...waking up soaking wet, get up to literally towel off, then return to a damp and now cold bed. Grim. Thankfully I'm old enough to be through the worst of that!

Started a Fat Lose Accelerator course last week at the gym, about 50 off us doing it across 3 teams (one for each coach).
Last week was about food prep and meal planning, which we have to do every week. It's certainly helped for the days I live on my van whilst at work.
Lost 5kg's since the 11th.
Just another 7 weeks to go :P

5kgs is superb in 10 days, well done 👍🏻

I went to walking netball this morning. Good fun overall...except not only can you NOT run (allright, allright!) but you can't jump either. I kept giving away fouls...

Tying out new things. Women only walking group on Sunday. Not for me. I'm looking into joining a Cross Fit gym and feeling quite excited about that. I forgot we are in the midst of the January rush though and can't get an induction for 2 weeks...gives me time to work on my pull ups 💪

Anyone tried Hyrox? Looks brutal and I break out in a sweat just reading about it, but looks like it is really popular at the moment.

No but was inspired to look further as our local news featured a 70 year old female world champion! I have settled on Cross Fit as not sure my heels will take an 8k run between obstacles.

I've done it twice, brilliant fun but hard.
Did it with a Coach from the gym who stepped in on the Monday of the Week my friend cried off.
Hour and 24 was the time. My coach hadn't been doing alot of running and cramped up.

Aim to lose weight then we're going to re do it. Want to do sub 80 minutes

Only 1k between obstacles, 8km in total - not that it makes it sound much easier!

You must be near me as also saw the oldies on Points West last night, amazing what they have done.

Yes sorry I meant 8km total run. I'm East so both sides of the nation must be representing! Inspiring for sure.
