Losing weight/fitness thread

First time in about 3 months the weather prevented me from exercising this morning, it chucked it down with rain. Now I'm in office the sun is out.
Will I have the energy to go out when I get home (I never exercise in the evening's) ....

Try it, you might find it a decent way to unwind after work, exercise, shower, dinner, chill.👍🏻

What does really irk with all these type of shows is the individual with the issues turns up in frumpy clothes, limp hair and no make-up. 6 weeks later they flow through the door in fancy clothes and a full make-over. It just diminishes from the message.

Also, they might be a bit more realistic if they featured the odd failure where someone's health wasn't improved by the new diet or whatever. 100% success rate is not helpful as people with think they can be helped and they can't.

True. Give them a surprise visit another 6 weeks later and see. Fact is their motivation would be off the scale due to the 6 week check in...

If we stopped because it was raining we'd be indoors for 7 months, get out there 🤣

First proper weights session in a while, to say it was garbage would be an understatement.
Just shows you that a bit off time off can really hamper you're progress.

I am looking for a decent gym session planner on my phone to get a bit more structure in my workouts. I seem to recall a couple were mentioned on here before but can't be bothered to search back through the thread (if only we could search individual threads) so what are people using? Would like free (tight Yorkshire man) if possible but would pay for a really good app.

Jefit. I'm using this at the moment. Really impressed so far.

This looks good after a quick look. Although seems a bit of a faff to initially set up. However the exercise explanations and videos are good. And I like you can design sets to target specific muscle groups. I think this will be good once I figure out how to use it properly and how to incorporate ready made routines instead of doing stuff I like.

It is a bit of a faff at the start but it's relatively easy there after. If you choose one of the programmes it will give you say 10 dumbbell exercises but you can add or delete whichever you don't or can't do in that program and it will do say a 3 session workout split for the week. I like it.

Sounds good I’ll have a play about with it and see what it’s like. I wondered if I was sticking to stuff I liked/was ok at - this might enable me to mix it up a bit more.

Another poor one today, struggling to find my groove!!
Out for a run tomorrow though, first since Tuesday.

Am I right in thinking you have a Peloton Brian? Have you tried one of their strength classes? I really enjoy them as they keep me honest and not deciding a few sets will do and quit!

I'm only doing weights when my PT is spotting me. Killer yesterday on my own though was time on the treadmill on 10 incline, decent speed and walking with hand weights.
