We stayed at the Travelodge on High Holborn which was about 300 yards from both Covent Garden & Holborn tube stations.
£6.60 gets you an off-peak adult travel card for zones 1 & 2 giving unlimited travel on both tubes & buses.
We did the London Eye, Hamleys, Natural History Museum, Hyde Park, Dinosaurs Unleashed at the O2, Tower of London, National Gallery (until the kids got bored) & lots and lots of walking.
All in all a briliant few days.
