Length off the tee - would you like to hit it 20yds further?

Would you take an extra 20yds?

i think everyone would but it would have to be on the basis that you don't lose any accuracy.

even guys like woodland, johnson, watson and the likes would take an extra 20 yrs.

anyway talking about hitting it further there is a new guy on the scene jason kokrak who was playing in the nationwide tour last season and averaged 318+ yrds for the year.

i watched some of him 2 nights ago and he was flying dustin johnsons ball and finishing 20 yrds futher up.

No.
I prefer hitting a full shot in.
Gives me more spin control.

but with the extra 20 yrds you can then hit a 3 wood from the tee or even a 3 iron to leave the same distance you leave with a driver just now.

and the added benefit of this is you will probably hit more fairways with the 3 wood or 3 iron from the tee.

I would say there was an element of sarcasm in smiffy's post.

Strange poll really, a bit like asking if everybody would accept less 3 putts. What would the sacrifice be? 20 yards extra but a loss of control? an 80's flock of seagulls haircut? 2 inches off your little gentleman?

I hit it a reasonable trip and id still take it. 20 yards is two less clubs to the flag, even if it was from the semi rough, its still 20 yards, sometimes the difference between making a green or not.

And depending on circumstances being in the first cut may not necessarily be a bad thing.
We have a couple of holes where, due to the angle of the dogleg, it's better to be in the first cut right on the angle than in the middle of the fairway - about 40 yards shorter shot to the green.

As long as this extra 20 yards keeps the ball in play, I can't understand anyone saying no - unless they're Steve.....

nope not fussed. I hit it OK length wise. If you offered me more Greens in regulation I would bite your hand off. Maybe the two are connected, but I seem to miss as many greens with a 9 iron as with a 5 iron.

Is it just me or when James asks a leading question are you waiting for a S&T agenda to be introduced ??
