No you're correct,

but what i am saying is you said 28/1 was awful value..when in fact you would make a return more than 1 in 28 times backing him each way

making a return more than 1 in 28 times doesnt make the bet profitable though! The bet is heavily negative EV for me

Rorys worth a punt to miss cut! Lol. Paddypower were offering 10/1 last week.

Ive done mcdowell ew at 66/1, dufner ew at 66/1 and mickelson to win at 12/1.

No doubt ill place more bets after the cut.

Betfair is the future, because its a betting exchange rather than a bookies you can lay your bet. Backed Rose at 20s last wk,cashed in when he ad a 3 shot lead on Saturday. No value in Rory at 9s.

Betfair was the future a few years ago, utterly inept management is making it more like the mainstream bookies day by day and killing their core business, they are treading a very dangerous line and with Ladbrokes buying Betdaq there may be proper competition to them for the first time ever pretty soon and they are as poorly equipped to fight it than they have ever been. Poor management has saddled a very forward looking niche business with an excessive cost base and they are now losing their edge as the try and squeeze too much out of their customers to prop up their share price (and yes i pay premium charge hence my bitterness!)

9/1 a good bet for a guy who's a bit 'lost' just now..............I can see why the bookies drive expensive cars ;)

will not be odds on without leading , if he is I will be opposing for big numbers

fwiw i think the price isnt far off being right, i couldnt be a backer tho, id rather bet him at a shorter price with a decent round 1 under his belt personally, but also think he will be a decent lay if in contention over the weekend as the commentators will talk up him being back and he will without doubt be overbet to some degree

tournaments before the majors never easy betting fare, at least not for the guys at the top of the market as they may well be trying things out ahead of augusta and winning the tournament wont necessarily be their only priority (sort of week id rather back a few guys at bigger prices who winning a tourney is the be all and end all for). Only bet Ive had so far was a little EW tickle on Billy Horschel at the laughable opening quote of 80s (totally wrong price given how he played at the weekend just gone!)

Nice to see Horschel leading after round 2, shame he didnt putt half decent or hed be half a dozen clear :)

One o the most naturally gifted golfers ever at 9-1 I would say it's worth a point my only concern is he not even thinking about this week he is looking past it at the masters next week
