Is it still in Arsene they trust?

If I was offered a move to double my salary or even increase it by 50% and I accepted the move then came on here to inform the forum of my good fortune would the forum say I was being greedy??

I know I certainly wouldn't. :D

As I have said, some need to get into the real world.

I hear what you are saying Dodger but its a little bit different when the player is already earning £5M a year, does he really need £8M?

Yes if you are earning say £50K a year and someone offers you £100K of course you should take it, we cant really compare their lives with ours.
agree with what you are sayin aswell but dont forget you or me could ply our trade into our 60,s if required.. these guys will be finished playing at top level in early 30's.. hate the way city do business but these guys have a lifestyle to finance so if you can get 3mill a year extra , take it .. clubs & supporters were there before these guys & will be there after these guys .. as dodger said look after No 1 (& No 1's family first & foremost )..

but these guys have a lifestyle to finance so if you can get 3mill a year extra , take it ..

Give me a break 3mil extra a year how long will it take for the average man to earn 3 million. Anyway the argument that the are finished early thirties is bawlicks, most of them go on in some capacity to tv or management.

we not talking average people or even real world here mate ,, if you were a pro footballer & you got offered 3mill extra to do the same job just different city & different coloured jersey would you not take it ?? i would .. do tv pundits or many managers (excluding very few top tier) earn that sort of dosh ???

I still think Nasri is a greedy little scroat and this guy sums it up very nicely.

Like I said before not all footballers act like this, some are "lifers" at a club when they could of quiite easily moved on for 000's extra elsewhere. For some its not all about money, most would never need to work another day in their lives - its pure greed its as simple as that.

And the merrygoround continues as Arsenal sign another greedy little scroat in Arteta.....they are out in force tonight.
wont be much change in wages if any mate , he was a top earner at our place & arsenal dont do big wages , seemingly deal fell through over personal terms , arsenal walked away & artetas agent went back to them .. bout champions league mate & greedy owner/directors .. good money for him but we needed the player

I would like to say he is moving for the chance of silverware......... :D

The salaries in football are a little obscene these days, but, that's the world they live and play in. Not sure it's the fault of the players as such, I think the blame should fall on the likes of Abramovich and co who decided that they wanted to buy up all the toys regardless of cost. If your playing partner(s) are getting more than you and you and you believe that you are doing an equal or better job, you're going to want parity, no different to you or me at work in whatever we do.

As for Arteta, he took a pay cut for the chance of CL football. I for one welcome him to the gunners, along with Benayoun, Mertesacker, Park, Santos and the other boys bought recently. Maybe not the marquee names people were looking at, but added a lot more depth to the team. Wengers done what was being asked, he has reinforced positions that were lacking. It remains to be seen how these guys perform, but time to get back behind the team and support them.

Come on you gunners.

Not even close, Arteta gave 6 years great service to Everton (when he could have moved to another club) and took a drop in salary to play Champions league football at Arsenal.

Exactly right.

These signings will be enough to steady the ship in the short term and will allow Wenger time to do what he always wanted to do - develop young players.

Wilshere, Frimpong, Ramsey, Oxadle-Chamberlain, and others will be much stronger in the next couple of seasons.
