Info golf trip in Aberdeenshire

Depends on where your based, Aberdeen has good food and shops, loads of castles in the area, Dunnotter and Slains castle. Personally I wouldn't play stonehaven as better courses in the area.

Hello Shewy, thanks for the reply! We will stay in Aberdeen so every suggestion is appreciated. What would you play instead of SH? I read it is a quick round with a nice view so we thought it would be fitting at the end of the day :)

Hello guys, final itinerary is taking shape! :)

Day 1 am: Royal Aberdeen
Day 1 pm: Stonehaven (tbc)
Day 2 pm: Cruden Bay
Day 3 am: Panmure (on the way back to the airport)

What do you think? Any suggestions on what to do/visit during the evening or during Day 2 am?
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, you are always very helpful!! :)

Would seriously consider giving Stonehaven a miss, you have Portlethen close by which although newish and bedding in is a much better test and option if you are in that vicinity, Stonehaven has a couple of good par 3s but otherwise it's really not a memorable or good track imo.

You could always look at doing 36 at Cruden, see the difference that a few hours can make once the tide turns etc....

I don't know Stonehaven, but if it's not that great I'd change it for Murcar which is a cracking course and right on the outskirts (Cruden side) of Aberdeen.

Since your already playing Royal Aberdeen you may accidentally walk onto murcar as they are side by side. Good track, Newmacher is good, Royal deeside is ok, Banchory is not bad but my favourite is Kemnay,

I wouldn't recommend playing Panmure at 3am either , its a tight enough course in places and in pitch black it will be even harder to find the ball')

Hello guys, Murcar was unavailable due to competition on day 2 and 3, but maybe we can play Royal Aberdeen in the morning and Murcar in the afternoon, so skip Stonehaven. Will check the availability, thanks! :)

Definitely Murcar over Stonehaven (I've played both) and Murcar is a superior course. Banchory is just ok.

Stonehaven is a nice wee town to have lunch out down in the harbour area though.

If you want a warm up before the main 18 at Cruden, the 9 hole is a superb test, and not too taxing, and has better greens than the main course.

Playing St Olaf before the big one is also a good suggestion! Thanks!

I havent played Panmure, but the rest is a beauty.

As much as I like Hillside, Formby, S and A which you may have done previously, I think Royal Aberdeen, Murcar and Cruden are just that little bit better, overall.

Panmure is class, all the members play before 10am ,every time i've played it its like having your own course, the clubhouse is old fashioned and steeped in history

You are probably right, but Formby has been one of the best golf days I have ever had! :)
Unfortunately I did not play Hillside since they were having a competition :( Hopefully will go back one day!
