As per title I am looking to re grip a set of clubs. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't want to see them fall apart after 6 months either. Please can anyone provide suggestions 🙏

Golf Pride multi compounds are my favourite. But if cost is a major factor, the single compound ones are fine.

Are you looking to fit them yourself as well. You can save a fair bit that way.
I often from Gamola or Adore golf grips, and see what deals they have.
I got some great Champ grips that way.

I’ve always used golf pride tour velvet but when I wanted to regrip my irons last year I didn’t want to spend £70 on grips - always managed to find a deal somewhere in the past. I bought a cheaper version called Karma and can’t fault them, they’re as grippy as Tour velvet and still almost as good as new a year later.

I put lambkin rel ace 3gen on my clubs and they seem to have lasted. I had a couple of Karma grips put on my driver and 3 wood earlier this year (after making a mistake and not having mid size put on when I bought them) and they feel the same.

Lamkin Crosslines :)
Seconded. I use them and find they are extremely durable without any loss of grip.
Im not a fan of the Crossline Black though. They seem to make my hands dirty and smell of rubber for some reason

Good ideas here, thankyou 👍

I will be fitting them myself onto my son's clubs after cutting them down by an inch and a half

When you say you are fitting them on your son's clubs are they junior or ladies clubs , does he have smaller hands? Yes to either question and you need to ensure you buy grips of the correct thickness. and or bore size. E.G Ladies clubs have thinner shafts and you would normally fit a .56 bore grip.

If you mean you are cutting the shafts down by half an inch measure the butt size before buying fitting grips and buy the appropriate bore size and order undersize thickness if needed. It can be hard to fit a ladies grip on a .600 butt as the grip can split.

I've found you can't go wrong with the Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips. I've tried many others but always come back to these.

I’d normally say Adore Grips would be the place to go and I love pure grips but Adore seem to be closer to RRP now

To answer the actual question the OP asked, just go simple - not multi-compound nor corded - from a reputable specialist dealer, many of whom will have a budget model.

He has found some black widow silk grips he likes at a reasonable price. Anyone got bad experience of these - if not these look 👍

Just check the core size of the grip and butt size of the shafts. If I remember right last time I looked at them they only did one core size. If that’s not the same as the shafts they will either be over or under size when fitted.

Just be careful of cheap deals on e bay. There are so many fakes being sold - some where even the sellers are unaware they are copies.
I’d stick to trusted sellers like Gamola and Adore and look at their discounted offerings.

Black widow grips are fine. My lad had some on his previous set with no complaints.

If it's the white ones, they are quite rigid and awful in the wet.

The Avon grips on Adore are worth considering
