After getting my 910 a few weeks ago i found that the current balls i use (srixon soft feel) didn't feel quite right off the face so i bought myself some srixon z stars as i've heard alot of people on here recommending them and you can pick them up pretty cheap.

Well i won't be be going back to soft feels, these felt so much better off the face and seemed to keep the spin down abit as the flight was alot better (when i hit it right!)

I also seemed to get quite abit more distance with my irons aswell as i was taking a club or so less into a few greens.

The only slight problem i had was with putting with them as they felt abit strange compared to soft feels but i'm sure i'll get used to it.

Re: I'm glad i chaged my balls!

Can I ask why you are bothered about how a ball feels of the driver? Doesn't putting and short game feel matter more?
Id hit a stone off the tee if I knew I could putt and chip with it.

Re: I'm glad i chaged my balls!

It felt good for putting and chipping and the results were just as good if not better than the soft feels it's just they felt a little diffrent with my putter as all i've used for the last year is soft feels.

It was nice to hit drives and longer irons that felt like they sprung off the face more and didn't balloon into the air so much.

I can see the OP's point. I tried one of the Wilson balls DX something that I found and every shot with a driver felt pudding like. Funny enouth I found the Penta the same. I just didn't enjoy the feeling off the club and didn't inspire me at all

Yeah thats the problems i had with the soft feels, with my old driver they felt fine but with my 910 something just didn't feel right with them and it bugged me.

These feel alot better off the driver, irons and putter and from what i can gather from playing with them yesterday they seem to perform better to.

Off out for another round by myself in half an hour but i'm gonna have have a card in my hand and score so no doubt i'll play crap and end up blameing the new balls :)

I really like the z stars on the green.. i used them all last summer and got i very good feel for them. Been using bits and bobs through the winter months but as soon as the weather picks up ill be back using them

Re: I'm glad i chaged my balls!

I need to use this season to decide whether I'm a Z-Star, ProV1/ProV1x or Penta/TP guy. I have at least a dozen of each to use and find out which is best for me.

Well i'm deffintley sticking with these z-stars!

Just had my best round with them, shot a 92 gross that included a 4 putt on a par 3 when i was only 15 foot away for birdie! :( and had a little bit of a nightmare on the last 4 holes.

That'll be the adreneline then!

The yips then the adreneline!

left the first putt about 10 foot short then knocked the next 8 foot past, next putt lipped out to about 3 foot and then the next only just caught the edge of the hole and dropped in!
