Ok, so I got my grey tartan trousers through from Littlewoods at the beginning of the week, very impressed with them, great quality, nice fit and great value for what we paid for them. The leg is a 32", I'm not a 32".....29" at the very most so I'm worried about ruining the bottom of them pretty quickly.

I have spoken to Littlewoods and they don't do anything other than a 32" leg. I have also emailed IJP as the trousers are in the 2012 collection and still readily available however because I didn't buy them from IJP i'm fairly sure they won't do anything about it for me. I can get them turned up a few inches which is what I would like to do but they have a slit at the bottom of the leg which I would rather keep as it makes the trousers sit over my shoes better. Anyone got any other ideas?

i had a simlar issue with my pink ones but only had to turn them up by an inch as they work up long, hand to cut the slit a little longer to do it.. Stil managed to sell them on eBay in the end as I'd brought a bigger waste size thinking theyd work up smaller!

Tempted by your Strombergs but am a bit skint after my holiday last week, new IJP trousers and shorts and then another trip over to France next weekend to play some golf.

i am looking at ordering some just had email with offers on and extra 20% off,

with philly169 mentioning the waist size are they a good fit waist wise or did they come up a tad snug?

A clothing alterations place can shorten them and keep the slit in the hem.

I've had to do this twice as William Hunt trousers are about 36" long.

Waist size is like for like and a good fit, its just the length you need to watch as they do 29", 31", 33" and unfinished (not sure who wears unfinished!)... I am normally a regular in all trousers which is 31" but 29" fits me perfectly. Lovely trousers and I will be buying a few more pairs in the future.

i always buy the sub70 trousers with an unfinished leg, have them finished ( with a slit ) by a local woman who does alterations she only charges a couple of quid.

I know everywhere will be different but any rough idea on cost?

The last time I had them done I had the waist altered as well. That plus the shortening cost me £10 so I'd guess at around £6 just to have them taken up.

Edit: just noticed you're sorted for a price now :)
