I'm searching for some plus twos.

I don't necessarily want to buy online, I'd prefer to see them and try them on.

Looking around online, which is all I have done so far, it's seems the choice is limited. It's either some awful garish designs or JRB, which is the sort of style I am looking for, but it seems apparent that JRB are the only make that is available in a very limited market.

I agree, plus twos aren't the sort of thing younger golfers are attracted to, but I love 'em. Especially in the winter.

They are more practical, (you avoid the mud, which only gets on the socks, to therefore easy to wash), and there is a sartorial elegance about them. They are also the diametral opposite to some of the trousers I a witnessing. It grieves me when I see my sport lowered to cargo trousers in camo and god forbid, tracksuit bottoms.

Is there anywhere in the North Wales area that sells plus twos?

Oh heaven forbid how thy are above anybody who would dare wear anything other than plus 2’s, plus 4’s or pleated trousers. Golf fashion must not be brought into the 21st century and we should all dress in heavy old fashioned clothing

I don't know where you play, but cargo trousers and tracky bottoms aren't allowable golf wear at my club.

Unfortunately, the relaxed rules on dress code have been relaxed too far at my club.

I have been wearing my existing plus twos with lambswool sweaters and a nice cloth flat cap, (like Tom Watson used to wear), for the last couple of weeks. It's attracted the obvious attention.

When asked why I'm doing it, my response usually includes the comment, "well somebody has to raise the standards around here!".

Place is a cross between an army assault course and an athletics stadium.

I have a friend of mine who is also at my club. He likes Plus 2's as well. He loves the ribbing but it's only friendly ribbing and he is abiding by the club regs, so no problem.

Golf fashion changing clearly isn’t for everyone. The golf swing is an athletic motion. Modern clothing is much more comfortable. Have to laugh at the old boys with the pleated trousers or creased chinos with a stained & pilled woolen sweater who think that looks good. Cavemen. I hope the best player at your club is a youngster who wears golf joggers and a hoodie

Come on, please.

Let’s not have yet another golfing attire thread which descends into mud slinging before it even reaches the end of the first page.

There's never been a time when plus twos have not been outside of dress rules. Too many new players regard golf having started in the last 20 years. They would do well to read and learn the rich history of the game and come to understand it in a far better way.

The Golden Age was my favourite period. The days of transition from the First Great Triumvirate, (Vardon, Braid and Taylor), to the second, Jones, Hagen and Saracen). There's nothing comparable with it in the modern era.

Our course gets horribly muddy in the winter. While not wearing anything tweedy, I often wear a pair of below the knee cycling trousers with long (footy, not golf club) socks. It makes perfect sense, and I don't care what it looks like.

Do you play hickory golf yourself?

I play a little but lean more towards the 30s through to the 70s.

Shooting clothing stores or posh gents out fitters. i got a few pairs for Hickory events. winter stuff is easy enough to get its lightweight summer thats the issue.

Are you a parody ? Golf must be the only sport and environment where there are actually people advocating that others should dress in a way that was fashionable in the early to mid 20th century. I really can’t think of no other areas of life this happens it’s quite funny.

I myself love the history of the game but to not change with the times is crazy. It’s absolute nonsense and if you can give me any logical reason golf shouldn’t be brought into the 21st century dress wise I’d love to hear it.

It has to a degree , although very grudgingly it seems in most cases. Although I do remember that some clubs felt it necessary to ban the Hatton hoodie. 🤣

Yep it will slowly change. Golfers dressed in fashionable clothing at the time back in the early 20th century. People think golfers should forever wear clothing of the same style and fashion.

All I can say is some folk need to get a life if all you have to worry about is how someone else dresses. If you want to dress like a caricature from 1925 then crack on

Steady oan.

One of our Scottish weather girls was wearing a jump suit last week.
My Mrs recently had a 'style' session at John Lewis whilst looking for a wedding outfit and was offered one.
How do I pee was her response
Seemingly they are officially back.

Fashion......what goes round comes round.
