If you could only use one brand of equipment...

I've played Ping almost all my life and paid for it happily. I think that speaks volumes. PING4LIFE.

Best custom fit, best customer service, best drivers, best fairways, love their irons and wedges. Tempted with a new Ping putter despite my love of the white spider!

I've heard their customer service is good, as for best of the rest you mention, what have you been taking????

Rationale for me ....

I would be probably be happy enough with TM, Titleist, Nike etc etc, and lets be honest that's what most people have already said. I doubt I would score any better by changing to one make for the whole bag, and probably wouldn't be far off what I play now after a few months to get used to them again.

So for me it was to be a bit different and maybe open some eyes to other manufacturers ... I would also love to try out some of the Bridgestone kit, but its really hard to find in actual bricks and mortar to hit them, and have made a promise not to buy clubs without hitting them.

Can no one come up with anything even a LITTLE bit different??

The power of marketing.

Been down the professional club making/fitting route and its just a con. Only part which is of any use is the stats.

I'd struggle with this decision as not much experience with playing many different brands & models.

My Ping G20 irons were fitted (Jan 2012) and I have been OK with them but I've hit a couple of Mizzy clubs recently and liked not looking down on something as big and wide as my G20's. I also felt a difference on the strike, it felt much softer and cleaner.

However, I've never hit a Mizzy wood of any description and I'm currently loving my RBZ off the tee. I have hit a R11s recently and got on very well with it so I could be swayed to TM irons as the woods have to dictate the decision, don't they?

Love my G5i putter also, only club I have never changed so that would be hard to part with!

TM Adidas for me, nearly there anyway would have to change wedges back after a disappointing foray with Z Tp's so hopefully the ATV would work better. I have a ghost spider on way too. That leaves a change of ball to penta, I'm sure I could adjust especially if there going to pay me bucket loads of dosh.... :)
Clothing would be another compromise.

Also I can see what madadey is saying why have 8,9 or more clubs in the bag and then say you prefer someone else's gear. Yeah if you've got a starter set but not from established retailers, doesn't stack up in my opinion either.

Which would it be?
Just for fun...
Please indicate which models you would choose, and a little reasoning why.
Caveat that may be interesting - if the company in question makes a ball you have to play that too.

Bags/clothes etc excluded.

Mizuno - because I love their irons.
I don't know on the woods, I would have to test the JPX825 against the MP650 for driver and FW, MPH4 3i, MP64 4-pw (keep my MX23s in case I struggle with them!), MPT4 wedges, MP102 putter. As they don't make a ball I will take a Srixon zstar XV.

I think the most sensible choice is Ping, but if you put a gun to my head and made me choose I think I would have to go with Mizuno, the Nike putter would be hard to leave though.

Mizuno make plenty of balls (http://www.mizunoshop.net/disp/CSfDispListPage_001.jsp?dispNo=001001003001&cid=golf_simei_ov) but having played with them last year, can't say that I'd want to play them too often - was like hitting stones.

Difficult to pick one brand - wouldn't trade my Scotty putter, Bridgestone balls, Titleist/ Honma wedges or Ping irons for anything else.....Entering the spirit of the thread though, out of all my clubs, I could get away with changing the irons and woods more than the putter, so I guess it means a Titleist brand over all, sacrifcing the rather good Bridgestone RXS for a ProV.

I know some people on here will be easy as they have all one brand bags anyway, still it would be good to hear why.

For me it would be one of the following:

I'm quite happy with the mix in my bag, but if I really had to stick with one brand, I'd have to go Titleist, purely because I couldn't give up my putter. I wouldn't really want to give up the Bridgestone ball either, but I don't know owt about their clubs/ putters etc. so would sacrifice my trusty RXS for ProV.....if I really had to...
