clarification on rules please.

Regarding Murph's comment - do you count a putt if it starts from off the green, or are we talking about putts only from on the green?

If you use a club other than a putter on the green (hybrid, 7 iron etc.), does that count as a putt?

A putt is on the green.
A putter should be used at all times to protect the greens.
Of course you could use another club and not count it as a putt,of course that would be cheating
in this comp.

Got to the 14th today putting quite well then a 3 putt on there, a further 3 putt on 16, then again on 17 and that's my lot !!

stableford in our gaf now , if i 2 putt & pick up , or if i scratch the hole before i get to the green .. what happens ? guess i know why the rules of golf are so bloody complicated now ha . mind you as we are playing 13 hole comps itl take me til sun week to even play 18 , let alone not 3 putt ..

Well I was out after 4 today. After dropping a 15 footer on the third, I got all cocky and stuck my approach on the 4th to 50 feet. Left the first putt 10 feet short then lipped out the 2nd. Never mind. I'll start again next week.

Scouting trip. Just in casr they decide to plough HS2 right through APGC we're gonna need somewhere else to play!

1st hole - 1 putt par
2nd hole - 1 putt birdie
3rd hole - 2 putt bogey (I actually used the putter 3 times but the 1st was just off the green)
4th hole - 3 putt bogey and Hawkeye is out of the running.

Now if we could have a comp for the most consecutive rounds with a 3 putt I'd be on to a winner

I'm in, though in all likelihood a load of us will go out and hit the opening hole in regulation on a cold damp day and leave the first putt way too short and trudge off with a three putt bogey!
