Really strange today, walked in after 9 as I was hitting the ball so badly but I was only 2 over after having a double on a par 5. Only hit 2 shots in 9 holes that I was happy with. Funny ole game 🙄

Two dayer played yesterday and today. Hayling on Sunday, St George's Hill today.

Lots of fun. Was shocking yesterday (sorry Gordon, known to many on here) and really good today. That's golf!!

Both courses in great condition.
God, I love St. George's Hill! I've been fortunate enough to play 36 holes with breakfast, lunch and sandwiches for £170 for the last 11 years with work.
And shot a 5 under handicap 74 the last time I played there.
Stunning place!

My first game this month. Could be the only round, unless I can get out between Xmas and New Year.

My two nines were the same - 7 pars, a bogey and a double bogey. Quite happy with that considering the lack of playing.
Three of us playing the 6 points a hole game. I was giving one shot and seven shots to my opponents.
Close game was 2-1-0 on the 17th tee. 3-way ties on both the closing holes and I hung on to my lead.

To keep current threads on board - I played with two wedges (my 9-iron is 45°) and all three of us cleared off straight after the game to be home in time for lunch with our wives.

19 front and back nine for 38 points. But a guy playing off 11 shot level par on 47 points. Apparently he was a machine. Scored 21 front and 26 back and lost the front nine to 23 points 😁👍

Veeery windy first 9 holes today but played my best competition golf this year. 40 points, 82 gross with a snowman in there.

Lovely to get out there and despite the wind it really wasn’t cold.

Played on Sunday in the last qualifier of the year. Played off the forward tees so I had to play off scratch. Apart from two 3 putts I played well for a 2 under par 68 and 38 points. I finished joined second. Winner had 45 points. To beat that I would have needed to shoot a gross 9 under par. 🤣🤣🤣

18 holes with a mate I mentored when he was in our academy until this year. I haven’t managed to play a full round with him this year - and only the occasional 13 holes. Boy his game has come on well. Off Winter Yellow his CH is 27, mine is 5. In the friendly match we played I should have been giving him 22 shots 😳 - but he wanted to push himself as he feels he’s a good bit better than 27 so we agreed a shot a hole. He still beat me 2/1. Was an enjoyable match, with underfoot conditions fine…much better than I feared.

Interested I looked up what my mate’s CH would be when playing (Summer) Yellows…30. So our new Winter Yellow measured course sees my friend ‘losing’ 3 shots…and for guys with handicaps such as his, about time too.

Looks like someone has seen taken in by an expensive jacket
People spend money for lots of purposes , but I doubt many think that nothing else works at all..
For some people factors other than purely waterproofness are important . I guess fit ,styling, colour, longevity etc. I don't know why people would think they have been taken in.
I'm a bit of a scruff myself and haven't got any Galvin Green but good luck to those who enjoy wearing it.

People think more expensive equals better. I was just pointing out that a cheap one works just as well.
Plus it has a hood which was great when waiting around on tees.
