I share your struggle once I've properly cocked up a hole. I just stop caring about the whole round entirely.

I will note that it tends to happen with mates more than it does in a comp, at least you have something to grind it out for in a comp, playing solo/ socially at your home club who literally cares :ROFLMAO:

An that's my tip really, just go to work on making some good chips or putts etc if your longer game has gone to pot and you're playing for nothing. The round doesn't matter!
What's frustrating is I'm trying to break 90 - when you're well on track or close to on the front 9 and then the back 9 comes along and beats you up, it hurts! :p

It'll come on a day you think about it less. The days I play well I rarely have a clue that I am :ROFLMAO:

Staying steady for 18 isn't easy but you'll get there!

I hit a bit of a milestone today (if that is the right expression)

Played with the same ball all the way round - first time in weeks.

Played in massive heat, but loved it.
Chipping like a muppet but driving really well, only missed one fairway.
One simple tweak and all is good in Slime's world.

Midweek medal today...sloppy is the best description of my round.
Came in nett 74(+3) and 4th place in Div1 but the 83 gross should have been below 80.
Missed a couple of short ones, duffed a chip or 2 and hit some poor irons and was 4 behind at the end...
Smallish field, maybe due to the heat but also a fair number of matches this week.

Club Champs First round - 3&2 LOSS.

Played the first round of the club champ knock outs this morning. My opponent won 3&2.

This guy was supposedly an 18.4 index (I'm 17.4 at present and was the lowest index in my class) and he was roughly 5 over thru 14 holes. He absolutely bombed it off the tee and never missed a putt. 18 index aye okay then :ROFLMAO:. Decided to look at his scores on the Scottish Golf app after. Discovered he's only submitted 5 cards since 2022 and 3 of them this year. There is no way in hell that he was an 18.4 index, I'd have said anywhere in the 8-11 range based on what I seen today. Maybe if he actually submitted cards his index would be where it should be and he would've been playing in the B class event instead. 🙄

Thing is, it's not like I played badly and just lost cos I had a shocker. I played very well. The holes I won, I made par and literally had to play perfectly. This guy was just far too good of a player. And I get it, even the worst golfer on the planet can have a day here and there and shoot the lights out but this was just such a blatantly obvious bandit. I can take losing to someone in and around my index no problem but I can't take losing to someone who should never be that index in the first place because they only submit 3 cards a year.

Back playing at Ellesmere in a medal, another round of good golf interspersed with the odd poor shot and a lot of stupidity, 7 pars and a birdie, but also played the 6 par 3s in 12 over!! anywoo, a poor score and as I am losing another good round from my latest 20 I was going to go up 0.7 overnight, which will make a 1.6 increase in 2 days.
i dont know why but I am really struggling to put a decent round together this season, mostly due to press the self destruct button, also struggling at home, of the 6 scores this season in my best 8, 5 have been at away courses.

Out for 9 tonight, started off bogey, par, par, par, double, blob, blob, blob & blob.
Was probably getting ahead of myself, have been playing pretty decent of late, after rescuing a double, on the 5th I had too many swing thoughts and game went to absolute pot.
It’s incredibly frustrating.
Will probably have a range session tomorrow night.
Hopefully get a lesson on Tuesday before I go home again as well.

Managed to get 18 holes in last night and most things just seemed to go right. Messed up our 2nd for a triple, but salvaged it with 2 birdies in the next 3 holes. Ended up going round in 72 which has seen me cut down to 10.2. Just need a 78 or less in my next round and I'll be single figures.

Gross 41 on the front 9 last night - played in an hour and 10 minutes in the sunshine!

Quite happy with that for now, if I could sort my driver out id actually be going a bit lower too... but that's probably too much to ask :ROFLMAO:

4BBB last night.

Was a pain in the backside organising it as the other two didn't bother offering dates etc

We had to give away 20 and 19 shots respectively. Was a tough slog but managed to come out a 3&2 winner.

I was 5 under HC on the front 9. My playing partner then went birdie, birdie, birdie finish to secure the match to my pathetic pars!

Now onto the next round where we will be giving 6 and 10 shots so hopefully a bit easier to manage.

Is that 72 your best round? Can't imagine you've had many lower than that off of double figures. Great round.

Made the trip over to Aberdeenshire to play Newmachar with Adasko.
Beautiful sunny day, rock hard course in good condition, what's not to like.
Played there before and got beat up by it so always wanted to go back and get revenge 🤣
Didn't remember too many holes tbh, but under the current conditions is wasn't anything like as though as I remember it, but then I was a teen handicap on my last visit.
Handy to have Adasko with me as there are quite a few short dogleg holes where an iron off the tee is the best option
Great company and a great course.

Yeah its my best round, previous best was a 76, with all but 1 of my counters being sub 80. Its our CR (66) which makes it tricky as you just cant make mistakes if you want to get low. Last nights 72, came down to a 71 because of the triple, but still only a score differential of 4.6.

Narrow win to get into club championship final. I’m really struggling with driver so didn’t hit it very much. Hit hybrid off the tee on the par 5 15th (never not hit driver there in the past) and then knocked my second shot onto the fringe of the green. Haven’t been on in 2 there for a couple of years. Funny game.

A wins a win! Best of luck in the Final Kaz!

Great round though mate! 4 lower than your previous best is a pretty good drop! Well played!

Our place is similar with Score Diffs - its rather annoying :ROFLMAO:
