Last round of 3 at North Shore, Skegness, really liked the course, condition was very good considering the amount of traffic it has.

Finish with a total of 66 from 54 holes, I think I had around 20 n/r's. scores were 17-25-24 putting was poor and the swing is not behaving since the lessons

Really not enjoying golf at the moment, but it beats sitting indoors watching the TV

+1 on the local 9 hole this morning, just the sole bogey after leaving myself dead on a par 3, good signs ahead of 36 holes this weekend.

Played last night and got my 2nd successive 88, first times I have beaten 90 at my home course after 2.5 years of trying. Cut a shot as well
Just need to keep this up for the medal in a couple of weeks (first time I am free at the weekend for a while)

Played yesterday evening and had an absolute shocker. Couldn't control the club face at all, kept leaving it open all evening except for the occasions that required a fade, I'd then double cross myself. Was 6 over after 4 then steadied the ship a bit and was 8 over after 12. The wheel came off after that again as I couldn't keep it in play off the tee and finished with a shocking 86 (+16). Had a 73 fall off, so a 0.4 raise.

The course is ridiculously wet for this time of year and we had another deluge yesterday afternoon just before we went out. Pick and place on the short stuff only so guaranteed mud balls if you miss the fairway (which are pretty tight at our place) and the greens were so wet they were full of foot indentations. Missed 4 short putts that all moved offline within 8 inches of leaving the putter face but there is nothing that the green keepers can do we just really, really need it to stop raining at some point. Playing qualifiers in these conditions isn't ideal.

No doubt in a couple of months we will be praying for rain again.

I think we should still be playing comps off the yellows until it dries out properly. The date doesn't matter, or it shouldn't, it's about how the course actually is. You hit a big ball and are finding it tough, think about the rest of us 😭.

First society day at Wellingborough yesterday

A lovely setting , always enjoy the course

Some good holes and some that you need to think about

We managed to avoid any heavy rain but you could tell there has been a lot , greens were a bit furry but still true , not many wet spots on the fairway and there were putting in more drainage.

Great 18th hole and always have a crack at it

Managed to go round one under gross , annoying 3 putts on both the par 3’s

Played at the annual work outing at Suningdale yesterday. Stableford on the Old course in the morning saw some mixed golf, starting with a double and a treble, but then steadied the ship with pars and a couple of bogeys until reaching the 9th, a 244 yard par 4, with bunkers either side of the green, about 20 yards out.
I DROVE THE GREEN TO 5 foot!!! And yes, I pushed the eagle putt!
Stood on the wonderful 10th, hit a lovely drive to the left middle of fairway and faced a 205 yard, uphill shot with a nasty bunker to the left of the green. Hit a cracking fade which landed and ran up on to the green. To 7 foot! And I holed it! Back to back birdies at Sunningdale! It doesn't get better than that.
And didn't really either, ended up with 29 points off 10.
But I never care what I score there, as it's just a privilege to play it!

Seniors Match away and I was using some Slazenger Bobby Locke 262 persimmon woods, 1, 2 & 4, that I picked up yesterday and so I hadn't hit a shot with them before teeing off.

I needn't have worried though, they performed admirably, once I'd got the tee height right after hitting a couple of high shots.
Together with the Craigton Royal Gold irons and Petron Impala putter I played a very steady round and we ran out 7 and 5 winners, although the team lost 4.5 to 2.5

3rd rnd summer handicap KO - the club's main handicap KO comp - giving just one shot I managed an emphatic 6&5 win playing solid matchplay golf. 4up at the turn having just dropped one shot to par, two over gross when we finished after 13. Played risk minimisation golf and was always in a position to capitalise whenever my opponent made a mistake. Plus I pulled off a couple of difficult and cracking 'up and down' hole wins. Pleasing. But see also my Rules question.

Level par today, 3 bogeys followed by 3 birdies the rest pars. Really pleased after poor form last weekend.
Gone back to using a line on the ball for putting and it worked. Let’s me focus on distance and takes away anxiety of standing over a put thinking of line and pace.

Seniors open at Tynemouth today. Lovely weather but my god it was slow. 2.5 hours for the front 9. Back 9 was a bit better, but still 4 hours 40 minutes.

It’s been a few years since I played there, had forgotten how tight it is. Course was in lovely condition, greens very fast. Played so-so, but an enjoyable day even with all the delays.

We had a medal today, started of taking 5 on each of the first 6 holes, sadly 2 were double bogeys on par 3s, I was hitting the ball a lot better than recently but a couple of thinned chips and 3putts didnt help my card, had another double on a par 3 on the back nine but finished with 4 pars and a bogey on the last 5 holes to bring a little respectability t othe round but again way over handicap wit ha gross 88 nett 79

At least Ifee l I am finally going the right way after a horrid start to the season

After being an absolute mess again recently I had another lesson on Tuesday.

Really struggle with the sensation of dropping my hands in the downswing - but been grinding at home to familiarise myself with it more.

4 over par for 9 holes last night - Parred SI1 for the first time in a while and striking the ball so much better - capped it off with a birdie on 9.

Will probably just get a lesson once a month for the foreseeable future to maintain what I'm doing now - because it feels great :ROFLMAO:

Another day in the 80s, another set of dodgy lies and bounces........we went through the round over breakfast and reckoned I had 4 holes where I didn't get a poor lie or a dodgy bounce....one of those days....gusty breeze from an unusual direction didn't help.....and when I have to take a 4w out on a par 3 then something's amiss
2 birdies - and good birdies too but 4 doubles.
Another good score drops off next round so we'll see what this Soft Cap is all about.....
It's still a stupid game..
