Don't worry about it mate, I played with an 8 handicapper last week when he took 12 on a par 4. If the single handiccapers can do it, I don't see why us Rabbits should be immune !

Oh yeah it happens to everyone but you just hope it's never you.

I played the low index supposedly harder holes well today and messed up on the high indx easy holes. Grrrrr!

My 16h/cap regular partner scored a 17 on a par 4 a couple of weeks ago

He it a great drive and was 12ft from the pin, in a bunker for 2, had no penalty shots, didn't deliberately hit a bad shot and snk a 10 foot putt!

He has also been a single figure golfer - so worry not!

He it a great drive and was 12ft from the pin, in a bunker for 2, had no penalty shots, didn't deliberately hit a bad shot and snk a 10 foot putt!

Makes me feel abit better then! haha.

If i had just hit an iron off the tee in the first place i would have walked off with a 6 even after going in the fairway bunker and sending my 4th shot sailing 20 yards over the back of the green.

I will know for next time though!

Happens to us all, last week I had a 3 (par 5) so very happy about that and that was with a 25-30 foot chip in.

Will keep my gob shut next time out.

But didn't he rack up a 15 on a par 4? so technically i was a shot better than him! haha

I once hit 5 drives off the tee in a monthly medal in 35/40mph winds. The thing was the drive was through a narrow gap and with the cross wind you couldn't be sure if the ball got through to a wider fairway or went straight out of bounds.
Actually found my 3rd ball (and 5th ball) and walked off with an 11.

Also we had a 7h/c take a 12 on one of our par 5's a few months ago.

Took a 12 at our 12th Par 3 in my second comp.

Top into the bushes, 6 attempts to get out (by attempt number 2 it was just a series of increasingly red faced slashes at it), chip through the back, chip back on and 3 putts!

If only I'd known about the great unplayable lie rule!

think my worst this year was a 8....... but it was in a medal so had to go down. otherwise it would have been a " no score" and moved onto the next

Went out and played tonight and i'm hitting the driver alo better.

Got to the dreaded 16th again an i nearly bottled it and took an iron off the tee but i thought sod it i aint letting it beat me.

Hit a good drive with a good 15mph wind behind and with a rough estimate from the poor yardage book i have for our course i reckon it was around a good 270 yards which is long for me!

Tried to go for the green in two but hit my 2nd shot to the right of the green and hit my next pitch shot over the green but walked off with a 6 which felt alot better than a 15 the day before!

I hit 11 on our par 4 1st in the medal at the weekend. Drive out of bounds, second drive resting behind an oak tree between ball and green. Chipped sideways, ran through the fairway into the woods. Hacked out, hit a tree and went backwards. Played up into a greenside bunker, 3 out of the bunker and two putts....Hit par on the next hole though.

One of my partners was a 7 handicapper, he hit a 10 on the 6th, and one of my other partners was off 18, he went in a greenside bunker on the 8th, played out sideways into the adjacent bunker and then had a hamlet moment taking another 5 or 6 to get out of that one.......
