How would you play this hole?

Do you get a shot on this hole? (don't recall seeing you mention the SI for it - apologies if you have). If you do then that is your answer.

Strikes me you only have difficulties with this hole because you are trying to get within straightforward wedge distance from the green for your second to make par. Take 4i or 5i off the tee - hit fairway but far enough back from trees for them not to be a problem to get over for 2nd shot- leave yourself with a 7i or 8i into the green. Make sure you club to not be short. Go too long or wide? Well if you have a shot you use it. Nett par.

If you're dodgy about going over the tree then why risk it, if you thin it you're looking at potentially a big score. It also looks like laying up in that area between the two streams might leave you a nasty approach over the water that you could end up duffing into it.

Try going down the left with a 5 iron taking the over-the-tree shot out of it, if it fades great you have a direct shot. If it stays straight then don't look at the green as your target, there's a big inviting area to the right of the green you can aim for. If it draws in towards the green, great, if not its a straight forward chip on. Got to be better than going over the water from 50 yards. That's my tuppence :)

For me it all depends how high you hit the ball.

I'd want to leave myself far enough back from the trees at 230 to be able to get over with enough club to reach the green if I left my tee shot behind them.

Go over the trees off the tee if you hit it high enough. If you're not confident of getting over them off the tee then try to fade around them. Great if it fades and you're far enough back if it stays straight.

4 or 5 iron then 8 iron or thereabouts. They would have to be some seriously high trees to impact on this strategy.
If you can't get the ball off the floor then you have bigger problems and why should you expect to have a 2nd shot at the green?
It's only hard if you insist on hitting a long club off the tee that a) makes it more difficult to get over the tree b) makes it more likely you could be blocked out on your second shot even if you hit a good first.

That's exactly how I'd play it and for same reasons.

Hit the hybrid at the left hand edge of the trees. If it stays straight, you'll be on the left side of the fairway but far enough back to go over the big tree in front of the green. If it fades a bit, you'll have hit it high enough (I'd imagine) to clear the trees and will be in position A on the fairway.
