I would just assume that one of the usual 4 balls from the Handicap Protection Society, made up of middle aged men with mid-teen handicaps, will win anyway. Like they always do!
If it was July the answer would be No!
Everyone is being soft because it's Christmas.
Let her play but with no shots added to the other 3, surely they won't be bothered and if they are bothered then it's not about her taking part is it😃
I don't think anybody could object to her playing and 100% we should be encouraging her, your issue is the Comp Sec, if the other 3 in her team weren't interested in winning, why allow them to be eligible.A bit more info.
Her father is also a member at the club and would like her to play in his team. She isn't just some random junior that fancied entering a comp.
Fully expecting her either to not be eligible to win (in which case hc is irrelevant) or to have to play off scratch because she has no hc, the father asked the others in the team if they'd be ok with playing but not be able to win. They were both fine with it.
He then asked the comp sec if she could play (mentioning they're fine with not being able to win), and he came back with a 'yes' and that the team will be eligible for prizes if it pans out that way.
I can't imagine anyone begrudging her playing in the comp, but (and this probably says more about me than anyone else) I'd hate for anyone to have cause to be unhappy or complain about it if they do well, given that strictly speaking she shouldn't be playing let alone have a chance to win anything.

That is what I thought. My daughter had a handicap of 54 when she beat me.I think, happy to be corrected, girls can go up to 54, boys to 36.
A - and I hope she is made to feel welcome and enjoys herself
