How often do you clean your clubs

cmac, think with forged clubs this happens, both rusting on face and pitting on shafts.I have mizuno m64's and they are forged. Within a very short time I noticed rusting on them. Fortunately, their own forum had a number of good suggestions and the best I found is to 1st clean with washing up liquid and warm water using a nylon nail brush and dry them. Then use WD40 with a soft scouring pad with sponge (like those used to clean dishes). This then removes the rust. Wipe them down, apply more WD40 and leave for a couple of hours to soak. I then use a cloth to buff them up and this acts as future protection the, rain simply drops away. i do this a couple of times a year. The clubs look brand new with not a bit of rust on them and all the grooves perfectly clean.

Rub down after every shot so the faces are never really too filthy.
However, don't give them a proper clean between rounds anywhere near as much as I should.

Save the superstitious, 'clean a bad round off them'!

Give the club heads a good soak in hot soapy water every couple of rounds and clean the grooves out with a wire brush. Rub the grips down with a brush and soapy water while I'm at it to get rid of any build up of grease/sweat etc.
