On a practice knock on Tuesday I duffed my second shot so threw another ball down for a Mulligan and holed it from 130 yards - can I count that one? 😂
For a few years the closest I'd had to an Eagle was two shots and a putt on a par 5, unfortunately I was playing three of the tee.
Had some since though.

I've had two eagles, both holed approach shots of 100-120 yards.

I did drive the final hole (par 4) at Derby a few years ago to 10ft, but missed the putt for eagle.

I have had one eagle and it was a hole in one!

I also holed out on a par 4 from 150 yards but unfortunately I was 3 off the tee!

Had one just recently - a short par four holing out from about 75yrs from trees pitching down and across a quite long, steep and tricky slope to the green. My objective was to get out of the trees and on to the green, if possible the half of the green where the flag was situated. That it went in...well...no luck getting it on the green, but a bit of luck that it was the right bit of the green - that it went in...

Now that's slow play at it's absolute slowest!

I play at a course where there is at least 1 par that is driveable for me, 2 if the tee markers are forward on another. When we play eclectics the aim is to get an eagle at each over the course of the 6 weeks (doesn't always happen). Combine that with a few lucky approaches elsewhere. Although at the minute I'd bite your hand of for a birdie anywhere.

Just the 2 for me - chipped in off the green on a par 5 and holed a 7 iron on a par 4 (2 bounces & in). We don't have any (for me) driveable par 4's (the shortish one off the whites is 290 - I can't drive it that far) or par 5's that I can reach in 2 (shortest is 490 but there is a ditch about 15 yds in front of the green, so I can't run it in)

Two for me. Both definitely benefitted from huge elements of luck. My first was a hole in one. 162 yard par 3. Stood on the tee a playing partner said this has a chance as it headed greenwards. It landed on the green, took a couple of bounces and we then got to see it perfectly track to and then drop into the hole. The second was on a short short par 4. I was left with 75 yards for my second shot. Hit a lovely approach shot that went over the flag, took two bounces and then zipped back into the hole. Don’t think I’ve achieved that (or any significant) amount of “zip” before or since.

I've had 152 eagles. (Never had an Albatross)
1st was in May 1980 on the par 5 - 6th hole at Lullingstone Golf Course
152nd was last November, a hole in one on the 11th hole at Darenth Valley, a Par 3 with a driver
Genuine question, how do you know? Do you keep a record of all your scores/rounds?
Indeed....
The majority of club comps will have a 2s pot.....
Get a birdie on a par 3 and you get rewarded...get an eagle and it's...Just an eagle
There's no Eagles Pot.......
Get an eagle on a par 3 and all sorts of things happen.
Get an eagle on a par 5 and.......Just an eagle
Where I used to play you'd get 50% of the 2s pot for a HIO regardless of how many 2s there were, unless you had the misfortune of someone else getting one on the same comp.

I've gone for over 50, really no idea how many I've had.

Of my memberships -
Aldersey had two driveable par 4s and a couple of fairly reachable par 5s,
Shooters Hill had a very driveable par 4 (came within an inch of an albatross/HIO there!) and an easily reachable par 5.
Wroclaw has a driveable par 4, and a couple of reachable par 5s (and I holed a 6iron from the fairway on the SI.1 hole for my first 5pointer in decades!),
Gradi had a few driveable par4s and easily reachable 5s - though I did get an albatross on the one I would say wasn't reachable except in favourable conditions, played my second from the adjacent fairway, couldn't see the green so picked a tree to go over and hit a 4wood as hard as I could, got to the green couldn't find it, looked everywhere, then joked "I'll check the hole LOL!" and there it was.
Runcorn only really one driveable par 4. plus my HIO :D

Attached is a yearly summary of all the games I've played from 1st Jan 1977.

I did play a few games as a 15 year old in 1976, but only started to record each score on each hole from the following year.
At first they were all recorded on paper and in the 1990's were transfered to files on computer.
I started keeping F/ways, G/Reg, Putts, Bunker Saves, Par Saves ect.. of every shot from 1996, and the last 14 years have distance of every drive/approach and putt distance & club used. These being recoreded by a combination of laser and GPS and good old pacing on the greens.

Back to the thread. I had my 153rd eagle last wednesday on the par 5 - 15th at Darenth Valley (272 yard drive, 198 yards to the pin, 4 hybrid went through the green and chipped in from 18 yards - :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:, It's a relatively short par 5, a tricky drive, but if you cut the dog leg by going close or over to the trees on the left, it's a great risk and reward par 5 )

I predicted my next eagle would come from an iron and not from my putter .. I was correct. I nearly repeated on the same hole a few days later and then just shaved the hole at 190yards on a 430yard par 4 still missed the 3ft for birdie though 🤯 ..
