How long have you been at your current club?

I think this is my 4th year. Benefits are that its a cracking course, I like the pro, there's a good atmosphere - they're great with families and young kids. Also, I can walk out my front door and hit my 1st tee shot inside 3 minutes.
Downsides are that I don't get a lot of play in the winter but I chose to live here. Also, the course is noticeably less good this year than in previous years, due to cutbacks in greens staff.
Can't see me leaving unless I move out of the village.

Was a member of the old Royal Ascot for nearly a decade and now been in the new one for seven years

I'm another 6 year member who has no option to vote in the poll.
Was made welcome at my gaff the moment I walked through the door as a newbie and have loved it ever since. Made loads of friends and can't see me changing unless we move away from the area.

12 years for me, others in the immediate area are free joining, but wouldnt go to them, as wouldnt be an upgrade.
I'll only leave for a premium course now, hopefully also a premium "club".

Only my second year.
If we stay in the uk won't be moving from where we are so no plans to move club as long as I'm here.
Lucky really, nice enough course, playable all year, good members, busy comps etc.
If we move to the US, going on Adeys thread and cost I may well not play!!

Only been a member of Cooden since November last year.
Having played the course many times over the years, I'd wanted to join for a long time but wasn't prepared to pay for full membership. Just not worth it with the lack of free time I get.
They introduced a new "flexible" membership scheme last year which suits me down to the ground.
Really glad that I am a member there, it's an "old fashioned" club with traditional values, which I prefer.
Early days yet, but all of the members that I have come across have been really welcoming.
It's a lovely course, I never tire of playing there and it's an "easy walking" course which suits my old trotters down to the ground.
Up until 2000 I was a member at Crowborough Beacon, and had been there for 12 or 13 years.
I loved it and would never have left but a change of circumstances saw me moving to Bexhill, which was just too far away to make it a viable proposition to stay there.

About 15 years now. The club will move in the future but I doubt if I'll be fit enough if it does in, say, 10 years time, to play the new setup. Meanwhile it's got no holes that I dislike, most of the members are friendly and there is plenty of competitive and fun golf. The only downside is that a motorway runs along the side of the course and it can be very noisy, but then that's why the land is valuable and a move is being sorted

You know my history Bazza. ATM I am very happy at Coulsdon Court. £80 pa membership and pay £25 per round. I didn't intend to play a great deal, just have a handicap and play some opens. However,it seems to have restored my love for the game.
What appeals to me;
The course isn't as hard as the palace. Its harder to run up big numbers (I have still achieved a few!). But you cant miss fairways and expect to hit it close.
We have start times so I can time my round prep and know what time I will be home etc.
The people are all very nice that I have met so far (sometimes I just want to be loved I guess).
I don't regret the move at all.
If you want an intro to some of the guys at the palace I would be very happy to arrange. Or, if Coulsdon suits (about £750 pa unrestricted) let me know.
Out of those that you mention, its a no brainer for me. The Palace would win every time.

34 years and counting having belonged to four others in the ten years before joining. In my defence I should explain that three of these were down to being moved around the country by my work.
I recently realised that I have represented the Rabbits, Second Team, Under 35's and now the Seniors; never quite made it to the First Team.
No club is ever perfect but I try to overlook, as far as possible, the negatives and make the most of the positives

I love Coulsdon Court. First ever 18 holes I played with my dear old dad.

It's a good honest course if you ask me - not too hard , but the wind does blow as its high up. Glad that you have fond memories of it Homer.
Where have you moved to? There are comps every week it appears, but the action is on Saturday mornings. How are you for getting out of bed bazza? I seem to go off at 7.45 (which not long ago was my bedtime!).

Joined in 1971 as a 14 year old, was a member until the early 1990's, then gave up the game entirely for over 20 years due to physical problems before starting again two years ago when I rejoined. Only been a member of the one club, so I have put over 10 years in the survey.

And on the down side and would like changed? Too many board comps played on a Sunday Morning (limits my ability to play in them) - but unfortunately that isn't going to change. Also despite everything I have thought about it in the past - we have to move with the times and introduce tee reservation for casual play. We have the system in place for comps and accessible through our club website - we need to roll it out more widely. I would also like to almost completely relax the dress code for juniors (up to 18yrs old)
