How long does it take you to get to your club?

9 miles = 10 to 15 mins

But currently considering change to :-

18 miles = 25 to 30 mins

Question is :- Is the extra travelling time & cost worth it if I can play 12 months a year on a sand based heathland course rather than a very well established clay based parkland track?
Answer:- I don't know ; yet!!

I can be standing on the first tee with shoes on within 5 minutes of starting my car.

Me too. My course is 1 mile from my door - perfect. If my body didn't feel like such a wreck I'd be there every day even if it was just for a bit of chipping, putting or a pot of tea.

It takes me longer to put the clubs in the car from the shed than it does to drive there :)
Moving to a nearer course is without doubt the best thing I've EVER done golf wise.

Nairn is about half hour 40 mins at most. Might take longer this year as they are referbishing the Kessock Bridge with resulting traffic jams even though i don't have to eveb cross the thing.

5 minutes to local course (Pine Ridge) which has been in great nick with the recent weather. 20/25 minutes to home course (Merrist Wood) which unfortunately has been on 9 holes and a trolley ban for a while. Great thing however is I can play any course, of which most are within 30 minutes from me, as a Crown Golf member.

The 6 mile route takes 15/20 minutes dependent on lights and traffic and the 8 mile route takes a maximum 10 minutes.

4.3 miles according to the AA Golf course guide which I will add is a great app if you haven't got it. I couldn't travel over 30 mins to a golf club it would make golf a choir

Until late 2012 I'd had a 20 minute drive on main A roads so that was fine. Closed course and temporary membership at a place 30ish minutes drive all on back roads and it's proving tiresome to be honest. I wouldn't nip up to use the practice facilities nor play 9 holes - both of which are useful to me. Plus the roads are filthy as farm traffic use them and the narrow lane that leads to the course is always absolutely minging - as is my car. So despite really liking the course I think it's likely we'll try Philly's place which is 10 minutes from home.

15 minutes, but its 15 minutes whether in the middle of the day or at rush hour and a pleasant drive through country lanes :) Are other courses closer but this one suits me best as an all round package

Less than four minutes for me. Must admit though, I annoy myself by dragging my heels as I sometimes almost cannot be asked to put my clubs and trolley in the car and make that short journey.
