Does your club do it?

I took a bunch of pictures on an early morning visit to Southerness about a decade ago that they used all over their website.

There was one Crown course in Surrey that took a picture of the putting green with the usual big sign saying "no chipping" and the picture had two people doing just that.

I think our main website is not bad - our home page ‘banner’ photos focus on ‘you know who’ with some nice photos of the course.

Clubhouse interior pics are aimed at ‘showing off’ the total refurbishment of our ground floor - no grubby members in sight…they’d only make things look untidy 👍

Exactly what I'm talking about, souless and uninspiring

I took a bunch of pictures on an early morning visit to Southerness about a decade ago that they used all over their website.
I now have a mental image of that picture having been updated with arrows pointing to the members and slogans like 'dead' 'dead' 'dementia' 'nursing home'

I think my club uses the same template for their website that loads of clubs use. It has a couple of course pictures and under the clubhouse heading its a picture of a plate of food.

Their websites are just more evidence of how many golf clubs are so behind the times. Many are truly terrible. Even if they've paid someone for a template, the content is usually a year out of date (at best).
I can't remember the club but I remember looking at one website that had very little about the course. Instead, most of the pages were just weirdly detailed profiles on the board members there.

But some club websites are really good. Guy I know does club websites and the drone videos and pictures.

He says where they don't update is often to do with cost, or a lack of understanding about the benefits of good website/socials presence. Additionally, there are those not needing or wanting to drive up visitor revenues.
