How does your Club operate the 2's Club Pot??

we stopped, and replaced it with a straight £6 payment to anyone scoring a 2 in competition play funded from the general competition account (which is of course funded from comp entries...)

the effect is that it's not optional, and of course results are strongly weighted to the better golfers.

most consider it a simple equation in that making a 2 simply gives you a marginal profit on your competition entry; handy when you are having one of those rounds :)

that would take a lot of the fun out of it for me, part of it is not knowing whether youre gonna get £3 or £30 for a 2

I agree.

There's nothing like the mounting excitement when it's a roll-over or double roll-over. You're watching and listening for any signs of celebration coming from the par 3 greens and the tension increases if you are standing over a ten-footer for your two.

Ours is an optional £1 - almost all enter - and it's all paid out onto smartcards for use in proshop or bar/catering.

Oh, and the guy who lies second in the year-on-year 2's league table never enters the 2s.

Optional 2's club, €2 a go

One pot , equally divided between any 1 that has a 2 on any hole ( was only par 3 for a while for some reason )

Winnings go into useless shop account (handy for Pro V's , nothing else)

Hole in 1 scoops the lot (was never sure how or why a 1 wins the 2 club , but that's the way it is, so u know before entering ,did win that once)

Not sure what happens at the new club yet.

At my previous club it was £2 into one pot and you got shares.

With 3 of the 5 pars 3's over 200 (215, 220 and 245) I stopped bothering.

It is £1.00 to enter and the pot is split with no categories and payment is in pro shop credit. Like some others, I would at least like to see the option to have it as ba credit or, even better, be able to apply these little amounts to your fees for next year.

I always enter as it gives me something to play for if the rest of the round is not great. I know quite a few who do not bother though, despite getting 2s quite often.

£2 in, share of the pot for each 2 in pro shop / bar credit.

Rarely enter as it's basically giving money to the really low boys who get 2's every week.

Not sure what happens with the pot for a HIO, in the bar you buy a bottle whisky to put on the bar. Keeps the bar bill down and means those in later can have a drink on you too.

One pot - with one share to each person who scores a two. ( You get no more for scoring multiple 2s). A HIO counts as a two so gets a share (but we also pay a fiver with our subs for HIO 'insurance' - which pays out £200 for HIO in a comp)

Funnily enough the first four places on our year-on-year 2s table are off 15, 14, 21 and 19. It's 5th place before a single figure man appears.

Very interesting...... Yes, you'd tend to think it'll be more likely the low guys get more 2's but I don't see it happening like that either.
It seems there is only my Club that runs their 2's in separate divisions... strange.

all in 1 pot goes towards rubbish Titleist DT solo balls.

Seriously considering not entering them anymore

That is surprising.

I don't have access to a table of 2's winners, or even think one exists, but anecdotally at my place you see the same usual suspects on it each week, mostly between +1 and 4 Hcap.
I've had a few 2's but not been in the pot, which gets highlighted in the results, so you get a ribbing in the bar.

Pro runs ours. I don't bother but it works perfectly well. Not sure it really favours any particular handicap bracket though does it. Hit the green on a par 3 and make a putt.

If you're choosing between a wood (high capper) or iron (low capper) , who would you bet on ?

Ours is £1 part of comp entry fee and isn't optionable.

It is paid out in pro-shop credit in the 3 divisions 0-7, 8-12, 13-28

The total amount collected is split evenly between the numbers in each category, low guys generally get a lot less than the high guys but sometimes it's surprising how it works out.

Should add, the club pay you £250 for a hole in one, not sure how it affects the 2's pot though.

£1 and paid out in pro shop account for club comps. For pro shop comps still a £1 but only two of the four par 3's count ( are swapped around ), but as played as 4BBB you and partner both get the money.

£1.50 in although it's optional.

No divisions, split between however many get a 2. Hole in one is half the pot.

I've had a fortune back from it this year with a few 2's worth well over £40 as only a couple of folk got one and my hole in one aswell. Had a 2 aswell as my hole in one that day, was popular :)

Ours is optional and ran by the shop. 2 pound in and then split between the 2s for shop credit. Saying 2s doesn't favor anyone is ludicrous. Low handicappers are going to be the majority of winners.
