Just wondering how others operate. My previous Club operated with just one Pot of money for all H/Caps.
My Current Club pays out & maintains the funds in the same divisions as the Club competitions... ie Div 1 is up to H/Cap 15..... Div 2 is H/Cap 16 to 28

One 2's pot for us, but a small amount is put into a hole in one pot. One member won nearly £400 for a hole in one, as we hadn't had one in comps for over a year. Following week another member got a hole in one and won £10.

just one pot for us. I lucky enough to scoop the whole pot twice last year, but very often its between 4 or 5.

The thing that surprised me is the amount of guys who don't go in the 2's!!

Me, Fragger and CVG have our own going whenever all 3 of us play together but the club doesn't operate one, certainly during the week anyway.

1 pot
Operated by the Pro
£1 entry
Total pot paid out, divided by the number of 2's
In shop credit

A hole in 1 gets the equivalent of 2 x 2's
As opposed to my 2 previous clubs paying 50% of pot to a hole in 1

We have one pot thats divided up. Our hole in one pot is up to £1500 so they have 2 hole in one pots with £750 in each.

£2 in the "twos", no divisions. Hole in one gets a large bar bill, harsh maybe but the clue is in the name of the comp. Never had anyone say they wish it had stayed on the lip so they would have picked up a tenner or whatever.

we stopped, and replaced it with a straight £6 payment to anyone scoring a 2 in competition play funded from the general competition account (which is of course funded from comp entries...)

the effect is that it's not optional, and of course results are strongly weighted to the better golfers.

most consider it a simple equation in that making a 2 simply gives you a marginal profit on your competition entry; handy when you are having one of those rounds :)
