Spending a few days in Sept in Chicago. Maybe just a flight of fancy, but does anyone know if mortals can get into Medinah? I looked it up online, looks like green fees of $186 which is about £130 and includes a buggy. Not a bad deal IMHO.

I think I should move to the States... Cheap golf + better weather. Luke, Westy, Rors cant be wrong..

Well if it says how much the green fee is they must be selling them. Give them a ring now and book early, worst that can happen is that they say no.

The catch is you need a member to play with you.. Michael Jordan is a member and I know him well. But I am not sure if he knows me.

Wondering if any forumers have played at Medinah..

Why would you want to go all the way to the states to play some average parkland course when you can play real golf courses in the UK?

save yourself a wedge of cash and get to a course on the open rota.

If its just sun you want book 2 weeks in Greece;)

Was travelling to the US to meet friends... hence the question. Agree about Greece - sun and much better food.

How bizarre!! I was just looking at the very same thing this afternoon too!! I spotted the $186 green fee and wanted to have a chat with them to see if they could get me on and whether I could hire some clubs too as I will be over there for a month in August doing a road trip!

I'd just rock up in your Sunday best (Loudmouth trousers) with cash in your pocket!
..and rock up in a pot smoke filled Cadillac...

Let me know how it goes. My Chicago based friend also recommended Cog Hill. He thinks Medinah is pricey for what you get.
Also if you are doing a road trip and planning to play around. My friends use golfnow.com & they pay something like $15 for 18 holes incl a buggy!!

Write to the Club, tell them how much you would like to play the course, and ask if a member might like to play a round with someone from London. I understand London is the only place in England they have heard of in the States.:mmm:

Fixed that for you Rich

If you think that the members guest fee at Medinah provides an argument about how good value golf is in the US, ask about membership fees when you get to Medinah. You might get a different impression.

Anyway, as far as getting on is concerned, you will need to find a local member to invite you or write a polite charming letter to the club and ask for a game. Remember to ask for the Number 3 course.
