After buying my first record of his in the mid 80s I'm off to see Prince live tonight for the first time. He's coming on at 8, off at 11 and there's no support band. Now that's how you put on a proper show.:)

Some mates got tickets for Leeds and have spares but I'm not keen enough to spend £75 on a ticket. My wife loves him, seen him a few times and says he amazing live.

Been a fan for a long long time, seen him live a few times, but not for a while now.

Hnve a great night, I'm sure it will be as he seems to be enjoying his music again.

The current Mrs 148 has tickets and is going to Glasgow i think, but TBH i wasn't really listening.

Don't forget to take some binoculars, even if you are in the front row;)

he'll have platform shoes on and hopefully he moves around this time to differentiate himself from the equipment on stage

To be honest I've been further away from the stage at my daughters nativity plays in Primary school. Not sure I would have enjoyed it so much from the back seats of the NEC, but where I was it was superb. ;) Mate I went with is a bit of a fan so he got in the queue early and I joined him when I arrived, so we were near the front.

The man is an absolute genius and his concerts should be on the national curriculum as how to put on a show. Yes there are some extended bass funk workouts now and then, but then he just goes and throws in a bona fide classics like Kiss or Little Red Corvette. Live he's kind of a mixture of Hendrix, James Brown plus a writer of superb pop songs. And you can't believe he's nearly 56, the way he looks and moves, it's a bit freaky as he could just as well be 26 the way he performs. One of the bucket list ticked off now.

I'd say just go as I am pretty sure he will go down as one of the all time greatest live acts. He plays a decent amount of hits that most people will know, and seeing him give it some on the guitar solo in Purple Rain with confetti raining down was worth the admission fee alone.
