Going to Scotland next July with 'The Mrs' who does not play. all courses played will be in Competitions with the majority Seniors. Some courses I have played before marked P.B and the trip revolves around playing Royal Aberdeen.

Trip 1 11 days- Roxburghe(PB) Leven Links PB Bruntsfield Links, Montrose , Aberdeen Spey Valley, Boat of Garten. 7 courses in 11 days with probably based initially in Edinburgh/ Fife or St. Andrews then upto to Aberdeen and near Aviemore.

Stayed in Edinburgh before and also St Andrews. Benefits shorter and not too much travelling.

OR

Trip 2 14 days - Ladybank PB, Royal Dornoch PB, Royal Tarlair, Montrose maybe as it would involve travelling down from Aberdeen then the same as before playing Royal Aberdeen, spell Valley and Boat of Garten staying Aberdeen and Aviemore.

The main problem with the latter is the travelling to Royal Dornoch and we would probably stay in Inverness for 4 days the perhaps Banff/ Peterhead for a couple of nights before Aberdeen and the ame as trip 1.

If I do not play Royal Dornoch next year it is unlikely there will be another chance and it is an awesome track.

The downside being the distance involved from the Sputh of Cumbria. We will probably be staying in small hotels/ pubs.

Sorry if it seems a little long winded but any help would be appreciated

If you choose 2..... I can give you the name of a really good B&B in the Dornoch area.
if you are coming all this way to play BoG and Spey Valley, why wouldn't you go and extra 70 miles (an hour and 20 at most) to get to Royal Dornoch?

If you are planning Senior opens, i would get in quick esp at BOG fills up in a few days, Spey Valley only has a couple of opens as far as im aware.
