Heart breaking

I think that sometimes the fear of losing an expensive ball can be detrimental to a players swing. They are more worried about losing the ball than actually thinking about what they need to do to hit a good shot.

It's a golf ball. When you buy golf balls, you know that at some point they will be lost. The worst thing about losing a golf ball is that it costs you a shot or two, beyond that it really doesn't matter.

 The thing I find funny is when people put an old ball into play when hitting over water, it's like admitting defeat before you've even hit the thing.

I am lucky that I've so many top quality balls knocking around I've not had to but a premium ball for ages and so I never have too much fiscal attachment to mine and know given the state of my game that it's only a matter of time before we part company for good. IN my opinion, the Pro V has priced itself out of range for a lot of average golfers and think there are far cheaper but comparable balls out there at a lower cost.

Listen hear as I am only going to say this once, there is a reason that the Pro V1/x is the number one golf ball played on tour.

But then again some of you wont have the swing speed to use one in the way it is intended to be used so other cheap brands will do you fine but please don't claim that any other ball is better when you clearly don't have a good swing to compare.

Would that reason be that Titleist are prepared to give so many away and pay the players so much to play them?
Yes, that's what I thought is was.

So what you are saying is that Pro's may be using the wrong ball because they are getting paid rather than using the best ball that's suits their game. I thought these guys only wanted to win........

you must know more about things than the rest of us

Pokerjoke, you are funny, hope one day we get to play golf together bet I would be laughing all the way round.

I'm amazed you didn't hurdle over the fence or hedge and retrieve it !!!

Good to know Tiger, Lefty and Rory amongst many others are using the wrong ball......

I use the Pro Plus and can't tell the difference, I ordered on a Tuesday from Germany and they arrived Thursday morning and saved a packet!

What's not to like

Chris,

Thanks for this. I need some new balls so just ordered some from Vice. The Pro Shooter was the one I had to go for when I read this:

[h=2]PLAYER PROFILE[/h]- Advanced players with medium to high clubhead speed and tendency to extravagance.

:D

Yep you have named 3 players there great reply, when was the last time any of them won ?

Tiger - washed up
Phil - great player one of the best but long time since he won
Rory - well what can I say seems to struggle to get over the line & one of the worst putters on tour.

You belive what you want.

These ProV1 balls don't have a lot of sticking power. My girlfriend found on once on the 1st hole when sinking her Srixon Softfeel, and on the 4th hole she sunk it in the 1st lake opportunity. My guess it someone fished it out by now and sunk it on the 9th.

I'll only say this once (well possibly twice if you ask nicely) There's a huge gulf between the swingspeed of the pros & the likes of you. Perhaps you should be using a ball more suited to your game.
