What is your current handicap? What is your target? How are you going to achieve it?

I'll start the ball rolling.

Current H'cap - 16.4

Target for 2009 - 12

I've been told many times that my swing is better than a 16 H'capper. My main problem is to many duff shots. What I need to do this year, is not improve my on my good shots, but reduce the amount of bad. This will be the first year since I've been playing golf that I can spend plenty of time on the practice ground. HID has just started playing, and this gives me the oportunity to practice more this year than ever before. This in turn should give me more consistancy, and reduce those duff shots.

The target is 4 shots, lets see if I can live up to my expectations.

At the moment I don't have a handicap, as after 15 years out with back problems, I thought this year Iwould just play for fun and to get back into it. My old handicap 15 years ago was 16, so I would like to get back down to that which I should do, as I'm playing a lot better now than I ever had.

So we will wait and see, my first of three cards go in on the fisrt of feb.

My handicap is 5.1 and to be honest it was not through hard work. I hate practising but luckily have a natural swing. I have come back to golf three years ago after a 12 year break and enjoying it more than ever before. My new years resolution was to get some decent clubs as mine are pretty grim, everyone in my club takes the mickey! I suppose my target is 4 but this new system of handicaping is the problem. I can play to within 1 shot of my handicap but it can go up because it relies on everybody elses scoring. So I might be a bit ambitious, we shall see.
Our club is on temps again and that is a waste of time for me,you can hit two cracking shots to the green then 3 putt! Hopefully we can be back on the main greens soon, then I have no excuse.
I think the main thing is to be realistic about what you can achieve and if you beat your target then it is a bonus.

I dont have a numeric handicap target. I rate that if I am in the buffer zone I have played decent golf. My target is to play at least once better then my hcp and to avoid going up. So my target number is 12.0

Current 5.2, target 3.0. Percentage wise that's a lot of improvement but its only 2 shots. If I can cut out the bad decision making and get my swing where it was 3 years ago I can do it. Really hoping my Skycaddie will help with the club choices.

I had high hopes of getting my handicap down to 9 by joining a club this year and playing more regularly.
The way my game is going at the moment I will be happy to hold an "official" 12

To get a bloody offical hcp would be nice, joined the club this year and all members at the weekend play in comps and guess what, all the comps this time of year are team ones!!! bloody nightmare with people asking "got your cards in yet?" everytime I walk inthe clubhouse, I feel like saying "I would have if it wasnt team comps every sat & sunday and it looks like March I will be able to".

Was off 15.1 unofficially, want to drop to 13 by season end and have an offical of roughly 18.

Current handicap is 21.1 and I'd like to get down to 18.

I need to straighten out my driving and be more effective on my shorter pitches/chips. I'm fine from 50 yards out, but am hopeless from 10 yards out!!

Am just about to be made redundant, so one the one hand I should have a bit of free time to practice, but on the other, I may not be able to afford to renew my club membership! :(

Started '08 with 28 and could not hit it till May.
Ended at 24.5 - got general play cut to 23.5 which starts next month
My aim for '09 is 18

Time to get the finger out and hit the range I think.

Currently 15.0, target 12. Hope to acheive it by better course management, not taking driver off every tee and therefore avoiding cricket scores that kill you in medals. Did it towards the end of last season and the scores tumbled, can't wait for the new season to begin.

Good to see some healthy targets!!

My current is 3.4 and would be delighted to get that nearer 3.0.

That might not sound like much, but it's pretty hard! I have improved my handicap a little every year I have played, so this is a crunch year I feel.

If I can get my putting in better shape it is a definite possibility.......

Currently 10.5 and target was 7 now revised to 8 as I am going to be a Dad for the first time in July so that will cut out a lot of golf for the second half of the year.

Having just joined my new club my initial aim is just to get the festering piece of paper! In the dim and distant past I was allegedly off 15 (based on one good society round carried over to my then club!). I believe, although my memory may be selective, that I am hitting the ball better now than I did then, but the proof will be in the performance! I would love to justify that same number, and it would provide a launch platform for improvement.

We'll see...

Currently 17, target is 12. Stretch target is 10.

Along the way I want to win two club competitions.

Concentration is the key.

Went steadily up last year to finish on 3.7 due, hopefully, to becoming used to new equipment.

Want to stop the slide this year and try to get into 2.something.

I hope that having found a driver that I like, I will actually be on the golf course to play 2nd shots this year.

I just want a cut.
First ever handicap last year starting at 24; crept up 0.5 over the year's medals.
Get told, a lot, that I should be off less then thrash one in the shrubbery or try to mine one .
Get to 18, I'd feel I'd really achieved something
(I can do this!)
