Handicap Change 2025

Pretty much the same - not sure if I will be bothering next year unless I get some oomph back before the season starts.

Start: 17.5
Low: 14.6
High: 18.3
Current: 14.6
Scores entered: 23 (of which seven were comps and the rest GP)

Prior to last month, my all-time lowest handicap had been 15.9 for a few days in 2023. One exceptional score reduction and I'm now at 14.6! It still feels weird not getting a shot on some holes...

Well done.

I just looked at your golf map. Strong concentration of courses centred around Lincoln, your forum name may include a clue to your location

Bit of a travesty that the only courses you have played in the London area are Haste Hill and Stockley Park. Not exactly showcasing the highlights of the region 😆

Ha, that's interesting. I know them both well. And HH is now (or soon to be) owned by the company that runs Stockley, I heard. I just played Stockley on Saturday. Greens were rubbish. 😆

Sadly, no rounds this year. I finally accepted that arthritis had won, and sold my clubs.

My previous 20 rounds started at 5.4, rose to 7.2, finished on 6.1.

Amongst those 20 rounds were a good few two’s and, shockingly, a longest drive. The last round saw a 3rd place finish and a simple, tap in birdie on the last hole but a mountain of pain.

Started at 9.2, lowest 8.6, finished 9.6. Although we still have a couple of qualifiers to play.

Oddly, despite the slight increase in handicap, I’ve played consistently better this year, but the rise has come about because I have only played about fifteen qualifying rounds, and have lost a couple of really low counting scores from some time ago in the process.

Those two were chosen because they were relatively cheap and we could get a visitor tee time on a Saturday! I lived in London for three years but it was before I started playing golf properly. I had a seven iron and a putter and played pitch and putt in Gunnersbury Park, Palewell Common and some country park in south London. In comparison to those courses, Stockley was like Augusta. :D

Tell me about it. I'm only getting 2 now and I don't get a shot at the stroke index 3 hole which is a 420 yard par 4 that is more often than not into the wind. I'm quite often hitting driver/3 wood and then need to get up and down to save par as I'm still short. Annoying.

Hit the gym mate

Then tell me if it works 😂 and I probably will still be too lazy to do it

Started at 12.4
Lowest was 9.1
Highest was 12.7
Currently at 12.1

32 rounds all comps - Lowest score 74 Highest 95 - I had a shocking Summer after a very promising Spring!

On 8th March I was 18.4. Went up to 21.1 and now back down to 16.5 . Comprises 29 'counting' cards.

Anyone know why I can only see back to 8th March on the EG golf app. (Used to be able to go back for a couple of years - at least?)

Same for me.
239 scores starting from 21/04/2018

Interesting to me is that I was 3.1 after 20 scores and low point of 2.4 in 2019, but of course knew nothing about it at the time.

I can't find my HI that far back, but it was likely around 5. Since mid-March 2018 to date, I've posted 588 scores. Recognize that I'm in Canada and required to post all acceptable scores.
