Great shooting at a grand old age!!

Yesterday I went up with Screwback to Monifieth Golf Club to play in the club open.

It was 18 years since I played it and the course was in fantastic condition and played tough even though there was little wind...I racked up a good number of doubles to limp home to a plus ten score,Screwback likewise for a 78 but we loved every minute of the round.

Now,before hand Screwback had been telling me about a Monifieth club legend who was around 70 years of age but still played off about plus 2,so much of a legend the last hole is named after him.

A legend alright.....he won the scratch with a 3 under 68!!!

Hell of a score for anyone never mind a 70 year auld Grandfaither!!

Have to echo dodgers comments about the course excellent condition and another one of scotlands many many great courses.

Great score of -3 by clearly a true great of the amateur game.

Highlight of the day was seeing dodgers ball hit a rock a on a driveable par four and run up to 5 feet for a quiet eagle 2.

Local Legends are what make our game extra special. I played against Biggar in a team match years ago and an aulg geezer turned up looking like something from Last of the Summer Wine and tucked me away 5 and 4 ... I was only 5 over par too.
