Went to the range today to work on my game in preparation for the weekend and get some more Px3 balls, however, they had run out so got some Taylor Made tp balls. Has anyone used them or know if they are any god? I paid £25 a fiver more than my much loved px3 balls.

After the range I used them on the chipping practise ground and loved them, they spun like a dream but seemed to roll slower when putting? Odd I know. Picture of them below.

I know its a little steep but it was my club pro, couldn't be bothered to haggle a discount and he is a decent bloke and the shop is struggling at the moment.
I would much prefer to spend a few quid more with my pro + have a chat than save a few quid and buy with American Golf etc.

Sorry if that reply seemed abrasive mate, typing while cooking dinner.

What is the difference in distance with your wedges? I am looking at a little sending splurge next pay day and wedges are first on my list.

My Wilson Staff Di7 sand wedge aint great and I love the look of the Vokey wedges you have.

You can't underestimate using your club pro for your sundries. I buy all my balls and a lot of my clothing (club logo) as well as using him for lessons. The point is, as a frequent spender (also got my Myjoys and SC5 through him) I often get longer than normal lessons, help if he sees me on the pracrice ground and he normally knocks money off things like shoes, jumpers, a dozen balls etc.

Sadly he can't always match the deals I get from my local AG on clubs and bags etc (and he doesn't have the facility to carry that big a range) which is sad as I would love to be able to go out onto the practice ground and try before I buy

I hit one for a few holes and didn't think it was too bad. Not top notch but comparable with the mid priced balls.

Agree about using your pro Homer but some stuff is way too expensive. I was going to buy a club cap but wsn't willing to pay a tenner over the odds just for a cap that I probably wear half a dozen times a year.

The Burner TP balls are OK but not in the same class as the PX3 Soft that are nearly £10 less in some places. The one benefit is that they seemed a bit more durable than the new version of the PX3.

i also buy all my gear from the club pro apart from clothes i get a very good service,

my wedges i get 105 from the 52,85 from the 56 and 65 from the 60 although only use the 60 on touch shots, lovelly clubs with various bounces so most shots are covered,if you after vokeys they bringing out new models in november so could get a deal on the old ones but the new ones look fantastic

I would love to use my pro for more of my kit but the simple fact is that he does not stock the brands that I like.He only stocks Titleist balls or Srixon AD333 and none of them float my boat. As for clubs, it is either Titleist, Ping or Cleveland. Certainly if he has something in stock that I am looking for then I will use him but have to go elsewhere for most kit just due to the lack of choice.

This is so funny seeing this thread.....on Sat morning on the 1st tee I was rushing as I was late at delved into my bag to pick out my usual soft Srixon,Bridgestone or Pro V and out came this ball....what the hell is that and how did it get in my bag I thought (reckon I must have found it) but it was good nick so thought bugger it I'll give it a spin.
Knocked it round in 2 over and the ball was good so onto the net I went and saw them on ebay at a dozen for £20!!
Thinking on buying 1 from my pro and giving it another go in Wed open comp and if it goes well again they could be a good purchase for winter ball.

I know it's terrible isn't it!

It's like cheating on Jessica Alba :D

But one magazine a month isn't enough for me I am a prodigous reader, tend to get through 2 books a week at least so I need something to keep my golfing brain ticking over and there's only so many times you can re-read Feinstein.
